The other two chicks had passed on by this morning. Actually, I'm sure one was already dead day before yesterday. I know it was from all the cooling off periods Emily forced on them. So, I emailed muddstopper to see if he wants this lone Dellie chick since he lives near me and wants Delawares. She is so precious, it will be hard to let her go, but I can't overwinter a lone chick and three weeks difference in age is too much when you're adding day olds with a 3-4 week old Del or I'd hatch a few just for her to have buddies. Bill is always incubating so he will have chicks to put her with, I'm sure.

The bator was quiet lastnight, but have a BLRW pipping this morning,

When the eggs are repeatedly allowed to cool off too much and rolled around too much like Emily did (she was constantly moving the eggs to a new location), they don't do well. The chicks were not in a proper position in the eggs to hatch. It happens. It's a miracle I have this one little feisty cutie-pie at all!

Kathy...he is a cutie pie and I think you need to give him to me. I am a good grandma and need another grandson...I will let you visit him

Cyn I am sorry about the little ones not making it dang it...that Dellie baby is just beautiful. I "Tiny" in the making just raise it in the house for the winter...you know Tom will not give it up.

Okay this is not chicken related but it absolutely made me yell "Yes! Perfect!"...ya gotta love middle schoolers...they are so fun sometimes....this is the best foorball play ever and it was pulled off by a middle school quarterback... check it out
