Maybe I could just sell off everything, but keep 2 or 3 girls of each breed... for variety. Forget about breeding anything. Maybe keep a couple roosters around.

Yeah, back to having just a layers coop with a couple roosters. I am gonna try working on that.

Dang girl! I'm completely confuzzled now! What about your Del project? What about your beautiful BR's and the NHR's that you bought just for the purpose of creating new Del bloodlines? Huh? Huh? Huh? What about all of that???

OK, if you're gonna start selling off your Ameraucanas, how much are you going to ask for them? And which colors do you have? How many are hens/pullets?

Ya know, I should probably just sew a button on this whole idea brewing in the back of my mind. I see the work and hassles that you ladies are facing with the size of your flocks, and I know I just couldn't keep up with that kind of a load. Either from a feed cost or a maintenance aspect. But, but, but, but

I have an even two dozen birds now. That's a nice little number, don't you think? Four boys and twenty girls. Probably by the time spring rolls around, that number will be down to 23 or 22 perhaps. Clarissa is moving so slowly these days. She rarely comes out of the coop. Just to eat first thing in the morning and then back in she goes. I keep a small dish of food in the corner, down on the floor, just for her in case she didn't get enough to eat on account of all the other birds with their pushing and shoving to get at the food. Poor old thing. But she just keeps plugging away. She still makes me two or three eggs a week now.

Someday, I'll entertain the notion of adding to the flock. But I'll still need to save room for whatever Maggie might do this spring or summer! She's such a good mommy!!

I'd love to watch her raise another set of chicks from start to finish!

Oh Gawd! Kathy, why did you have to mention Ameraucana's!?!?!
