It means that all of us with our bumper stickers are getting the word out and BYC is taking over the www.

Well I do have to say that I recommended BYC to a poster on CL and omitted the S from CHICKENS and it took them to a not so nice site. I was really embarrassed and e-mailed them back but not sure they found us.

Serri: I have a grass path to the coop but will admit that the first year I had dumped a halffull bag of sand in the yard and remembered it when I saw brown snow go flying across the yard.

Fortunately it didn't damage the brand new snow blower.

Went to a local chicken sale this morning. Decided to bring one of my dogs for company.

I think he was more popular than the chickens I brought.

(sidenote; this is not my child....it is 1 of 2 random children who came over and played with, laid on, petted, rubbed, kissed etc all over Frankie)

He is the nicest dog on earth...loves EVERYTHING. The other kid came over at the end to say goodbye, carrying her brand new bantam rooster.....and leaned over to hug Frankie, squashing the rooster up into his face in the process. He could have cared less.

Nella: Your Frankie looks and sounds like a brown version of my big, dumb, dopey, boy: Jasper. He loves kids, critters and company.

Rub his belly or toss him a ball/frisbee/stick/bucket lid/small pumpkin/empty soda bottle/ANYTHING! and He's your friend for life!

I love these big old mutts.

Such gentle giants! And ya just gotta love a dog that knows the difference between chickens and invading ravens!

Tim: Naaw...sand won't hurt them. But I bet it sure did a lovely job of polishing the inside of the snow chute!!

Well folks. I would love to sit and post back and forth all day today, but those chickens won't set themselves up for the day [darn the luck

I hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. May your weather be pleasant, and may all of your hens lay eggs. May your roosters be ever vigilant and ever gentle with their girls.

Today's broody news ..... well, pictures are worth a thousand words, right? .......
Look familiar? I pulled her out of nest last night, and found her there again this morning. When I pulled her out, she just laid there, like this ..... Does this qualify as a "stink eye?" She is so dang big, I could probably fit 2 dozen eggs under her and still have room to spare!

Well, I guess she will get today's Delaware eggs. I give up on breaking broodies!
