Here we go again. This snow is worse than the last one. Woke to about 9". Grrr, I hate snow. Hope the power stays on since I have my bator full of precious Suede and Isaac babies. Snow still falling.
Holy cow Cyn....what a difference 90 miles makes!!!
We have about 7" with freezing rain falling now. I hope it quits soon as that ice is what is likely to cause power outages here. Boys are eating breakfast and getting ready to go out and play in it.....I might just join them for a little sleddin' myself
Cyn, Tom is right! You just stay put with your nose glued to the bator! There's nothing so important out there that you need to go risking another fall!
Tom is both competent and capable! Let him put on his macho pants and take care of all of it!
Just tell him I said to go slow and steady! I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers, especially for those most precious eggs in the bator. Please Great Spirit, keep the lights on for my friends in the southeast!
Janelle, I just love the pictures of the dogs!
No, chickens rarely are impressed with such displays of power from Mother Nature. To truly appreciate the magic and beauty of snow, one must have a dog! They absolutely relish a romp in the white stuff. Every time we get a new layer, Jasper is out there rolling around all over in it! I guess it's his idea of a bath!
We'll be getting hammered starting tomorrow afternoon and the storm is expected to carry through all the way to Wednesday morning/afternoon. The National Weather Service is saying we could have as much as a foot and a half by the time it's all done!
I'm loving it! I'm sorry Cyn. I know it's a real PITA for you and Tom on top of your mountain, but for the child in me, I'll always love SNOW!!!!
The plan is to take care of commissary shopping first thing tomorrow morning as they're closed on Mondays!
I swear, it's the only commissary I've ever seen that stays closed on a MONDAY for crying out loud!
We just laid in a good supply of feed for the chooks, so everything is fine on that front as well. We should be able to get everything we're running short on and back home before the first snowflake falls. Then it's sit back, shovel every two or three hours, and enjoy the view!
Fire wood stacked up in the house? Check! Generator tanked up and ready to go? Check! Two big canisters of hot cocoa mix w/marshmallows? Check! Water jugs filled? Check! Check! and Check again! Yup! We're ready! Let it snow!
