I have a 17 lb cat that drools like a St. Benard too!

Yes lots of attitude with cats. But she is first one to know I feel bad and will come and look as if she is asking how are you. Also likes to cuddle in the chair when I read and sleep on my bed curled on top of the spread behind my knees. She is like a heating pad. She is just my playtoy. There is a black stray outside that does the vole, mole, and mouse job. She does it well too. Not Rats though.!!!
It is snowing again here this afternoon. We had 10 inches I spent the better part of the day making paths through it. It was sort of fun, I have not been exposed to a lot of snow but once while I was growing up. That was in Mich. upteen years ago. This was light and feathery. Just the snow to play in. Now going down to the coop was an exercise in balance. Water in one hand ,treats in one and oh yes a shovel too. I am safe Nella, just bit crazy

OH! That reminds me of our very first cat.... Came from a litter that was abandoned by the mama. The owner named each kitty a shoe brand name .... Fila, Nike, etc .... We got Fila. Brittney was a little girl and wanted a kitty. Mike and I always said we never wanted cats, but Brittney was a spoiled brat and always got her way ......

Anyway, Fila lived in the house. Night time, she would get in our bed. I would toss her out, over and over. After about a month of this, she learned to go to Mike's side of the bed. She slept, all curled around his head or neck. He never could toss her out. She was a good cat. She never used a litter box, but would go to the door and meow to be let out.

One day, snowy day, she went out..... there were a couple stray dogs, and one grabbed her on my porch as she was trying to get back in. I cried and cried over that. I guess I really did like that darn cat.

Strange.... y'all seem to be getting more snow in the south than we are here. The most we have gotten in one day so far this winter is about 3 to 4 inches. But we have had below zero temps

Evening all.....

Here are a few pix from our place today. Chili is now in the crock pot and we are gearing up for the BCS Championship game.

And here are the "few" brave chooks that came out of the coop today

Gotta get a pix of our new kitty addition and post it. Even my DW (who, too, is NOT a cat lover) is taking a liking to Ms Lily, the adopted kitty

Scott, I thought you lived in Georgia. For heaven's sake, those pictures look like Iowa winter! I have been pretty darn lucky, here in Missouri this year, for sure!

Keep warm my friends! Be safe out there!

2 of my chickens said SCREW THE SNOW and were roosting in the garage when I went in there. Crazy chickens. Two of my older girls. Thumbing their beak at the weather. The ducks enjoyed it the most....they actually were out in the snow, just for kicks.

I got 10 eggs today though! LOL

Everyone in the brooders are fine and dandy.

The dogs are enjoying the snow. Getting ready to eat chicken and potatoes from the crockpot, along with dinner rolls and steamed veggies. If I got to work from home I could eat like this EVERY DAY. And it would be glorious.
