Just posted Riley's son for free in BSA. He's so darn cute! Wish I had a good place for him here.

I have Coronation and Light-splits laying now. Did I tell you that before? Should I pen them and hatch? Nawwww, I think I will just keep them all as layers. I really love these birds, but I know I have enough already. I really do not need more. Do I? Nawwww.....

Actually, the Wyandottes are laying now, too. All of them are going into the layers coop today, as well. I just have them to look at. They are so pretty. Unknowingly, Brittney tossed an egg into the incubator. It hatched. So, I have ONE BLRW chick now, too. I think a friend of hers is picking it up today though.

And just think of all of the pro's of having chickens versus having human children!

CHICKENS DON'T:
ask for your car keys on a Friday night,
bring their friends over after school to eat you out of house and home
talk back to you and sass you in public
make your auto insurance rates skyrocket

CHICKENS DO:
give hours of free entertainment
make us yummy eggs
provide excellent meat
make awesome insect exterminators
a great job of turning over a compost pile [nobody does it better than a flock of hungry hens!!]
make a great auxiliary wake up alarm [no electricity or batteries needed!]
have wonderful listening skills when you're feeling down and need someone to talk to
give love unconditionally

And last but not least, if a hen or roo doesn't work in your coop, you can always rehome them!!

Well today was Pedicure day for Jo and man was she a good girl. He was quite impressed with her when he walked to her rear and she lifted her foot and held it out for him. He also said she had great feet and they were in great shape. So ya'll go ahead and laugh at me for giving her foot massages and conditioner rubs. Jo lavished in the attention. The farrier, the farrier's apprentice, DH, Chy and I all there talking to her, petting her and paying attention to her...she was in her element.
