Oh boy! You're not just whistling Dixie there! Do you know that since Cosette started laying 9 days ago, she has only missed ONE day?
ep.gif
No lie! She only took off the day after her first one. She's been laying like gangbusters ever since. Frankly, I worry about how eager she is to lay so many so young. It wouldn't hurt my feelings a bit if she'd slow down just a little and take it easy on herself!

I'd like to see her be with me for many more years to come and not go through any laying issues.

So, now you see what ya get with these Delaweggers Kathy. I really think you need to patent this breed! You could make a mint, and I'd probably be your biggest buyer of pullets!

I definitely want more like Cosette! What color of egg do her Auntie's lay?

You know where to get one of those! http://bestsmileys.com/expressions/9.gif

Yeah, and do you know how fast Denny would have my guts for garters?

Now, if you snuck him in with a batch of pullets the same age, we might just be able to pull it off. The conversation might go something like this:.........

Denny: That one sure looks like a roo to me. What gives? I thought you said Kathy knew how to sex these things? I thought you ordered nothing but pullets!

Me: Well heck honey! She sent five pullets! Five out of six ain't bad! Oh well, he's here now, may as well make the best of it. And look how sweet he is honey! He likes you already!!

YOU can do that, Amy! YES, great idea ..... make Delaweggers become a breed, and a well known household word!

Maggie's 2 sisters here ... one lays a pretty pale green egg, and the other lays a pink egg. Like I was telling Brandon, I think I am gonna pen them with the Lavender Ameraucana cockerel...... well, as soon as this bitter weather passes, I will do that. I will put the couple Marans girls I have in there, too, and make Olive Eggers.

Hmmmm...I wonder what I would get if I put an EE roo over Delaware hens? Would it still be considered a Delawegger? I might need to downsize my entire flock and start all over again. Nothing but EE's and Del's to get started..................

*sigh* Who am I kidding? I could never part with my babies. Oh well. Guess I'll just have to expand!

Poor Denny. He said the other night that he'll probably only live long enough to complete all the projects around here and then kick the bucket as soon as he's done. Well, if that's the case, I'll see to it that he lives forever!!!

*insert scheming snicker here*

ETA: OK kids, stick a fork in my butt and turn me over, cuz I'm done for tonight! *yawn* Time to get some shut eye. Y'all have a wonderful day tomorrow!

I have just spent 30 minutes completely cleaning out the Diva's stall, refilling with fresh bedding Another 35 minutes for her morning walk and 25 minutes lavishing attention and grooming loves on her. I mean she cannot meet her new vet looking a mess can she?

So what does she do? Immediately upon being released from my grasp????? she runs to the nearest wet dirty spot and proceeds to throw herself down for a good roll!

I swear she was smirking and snickering at me while she rolled. So...after all of this, her new vet will see a dirty Diva and I ain't fixing it! HA! I mean she just had a pedicure and then she gets the royal Diva treatment except a moisturing bath...I mean the groom, hoof cleaning, conditioning and shined, her ears cleaned and her girly parts cleaned, tail brushed to crackling perfection and she rolls in the wet dirt

I need an aspirin.

Oh a new 15 second video from my phone with Cheyenne at the helm as I risked life and limb to feed apple pieces to the feathered beasts, by hand.
