Well, I figure I have my Mr Mottled and the 5 beautiful girls. Add on this beautiful girl. Each boy can have 3 girls.

SIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGH.

Nella, this should be all you add, right????

Yep. I hadn't planned on adding any more, but couldn't pass up another BLUE mottled pullet that was local.

I do still want to downsize some more on my "big birds". I wouldn't mind selling another 5 big hens this year, plus at least some of my 14 olive egger "kids" that are growing up. And the dozen boys will all go.

Nella, that's good that you're downsizing more than you're buying, at least!

Kathy, I think that it may be coming from Georgie. Ellie is the better hen, but I'm not getting eggs from her that are as easily identified, and besides, I can't keep hatching from just one hen so guess I need to quit hatching Dels till Tasha is laying. I've never known of any issues with Ellie's chicks-Tasha is perfectly awesome, chunky and super friendly. Her only flaw is that her legs are not as yellow as some have been. Oh, well, I guess we may have to put down that chick tomorrow. It's obvious that one hock is painful and it hasn't stood up. When I support it, the other little heathens go after its feet, LOL. Dang, they're such Delawares! You can't be a weak one in a brooder full of Dellie heathens, that's for sure!

Hope you feel better tomorrow, Nick.

Awe! So sorry keeps happening. Thanks too. Now, who will be Tasha's sire if you hatch from her?

Tasha will be bred back to her father, called linebreeding, if I hatch from her. There's no other choice at the moment. I think I'm going to quit breeding the Delawares, though. I want to concentrate on my Rocks, both Barred and Blue, since they are my first love.

Sounds good, but you don't have blue rocks, do you? I thought you just had the orps. I love barred rocks!

Hello wow what a lovely snow filled day and evening this has been....NOT I am sick of this. I need warmer weather, I need to build duckie houses so they are out of my garage, I need to... I need this... and I need that dang it.

I baked two loaves of homemade bread tonight and ate one all by myself with butter and honey. Might as well since I will not be able to eat solids (so to speak) again for a couple of days.

Nella...I am glad you got the little man, he is such a handsome little thing. I know about down-sizing...a pair and a trio from Kathy coming in May, a pair of partridge cochins (hopefully) from Braclin coming in May, Hopefully a couple mixed babies from Speckledhen coming in May, hatching eggs from Beth coming in May....Divorce to immediately commence after May 23rd.
