Built and leveled the skid foundation for the new 8 x 12 coop (well, 4' will be storage as you walk inside). Ouch, haven't done that much work in ages!

Ellie's egg is zipping, but other than Georgie's egg that pipped this afternoon, can't see anymore pips. They need to get busy!

Slackers! Tell them babies to get a move on...we want to see them. NOW

We are on Day 4 here....Porcelains and my Frizzle Serama/OEGB mutts

Nice birds, Beth!

Cyn, glad you've got started. Exciting!

We have decided to postpone the shed until this Summer, when we'll get it custom-built.

Y'all, we are screwed here... we need to get rid of the roosters and are hoping to find out all the genders by the middle of next week, they will be three weeks tomorrow.

So here's the problem... We might need to ship them, which I have no idea how to do. So really, would it be okay to ship them at four weeks? Priority mail, right? How long will we need to wait before we can send them, if not four weeks? AND... We have no idea how to ship them. I mean, do we put feed and water in? A hanging waterer, like water bottle hamster type, and then scatted feed in the corner of the box, or tape down a feeder to the side... I have no idea and want to ship successfully if we do have to ship these guys.

Thanks!

No, Nick you can't ship them at four weeks. They'll most likely die since they may be without food and water for way too long. Plus you must have a special bio-filter shipping box and you must be NPIP certified or have a veterinarian's certificate of health to ship live birds anyway. They won't be crowing for ages so you have a bit of time. Put an ad on BYC to rehome them when you're ready.

LH, I may try to candle a few of the BBS Orps--they'll be on Day 6 tomorrow.

for Suede babies!

Almost every rooster I've ever had has gone to a BYCer, with the exception of two of Isaac's brothers.

Here are the requirements for shipping live adult birds. You can only ship just-hatched ones and adults, as far as I know.

Used pieces of 4x4 we had on hand and just bought the blocks so far/ Took a small amount of excavating on the front since the ground has a gentle slope from front to back:
