Hi everyone. I love this weather! Low 80's are my favorite. I enjoy this humidity, too. Isn't that strange?
Well, I haven't done nearly as much as you, Kathy, but here is how my day went:
1. Get up at 8:30 to check on incubators
2. Notice chicken eating dog is out chasing MY DELAWARES
3. Herd dog inside, give her a talkin' to about MY DELAWARES
4. Walk chicken eating dog.
4. Check on the incubators, turn the eggs, all is well.
5. Go out, not bother to put the dels in, change all waterers and add ACV.
6. Take down the Delawares' run, rake it out.
7. Move their tractor, ad scoop up a billion feathers... I think that they just finished up their mini-molt. Feathers were everywhere, now not flying off anymore.
8. Check the Delawares' ripped beaks, not mostly healed.
9. Let the big girls out.
10. Put Delaware fencing back up.
11. Go to neighbor's and clean their brooders for them, as a favor. They had to go to their kids' soccer game last minute.
11. Collect, wash and store eggs.
12. Put Delawares' run back up.
13. Change bedding in both coops.
14, Notice Zucchini acting lethargic. Bring her in to the garage where it's air conditioned, feed her grapes, she chokes on a grape (LOL), she spits it up, stays in the garage until she cools down, then is brought back to the coop. All better.
15. Take 200+ pictures.
15. Set up some brooders
16. Turn eggs.
17. Relax... At last
18. Lock chickens up.
19. Take some more pictures
20. Go to dinner with some friends
21. Turn eggs
PLUS, next weekend I have to do the Spring cleaning, I guess. Rake the other run, hose down and disinfect everything, worm, etc. Plus, I completely change bedding every day of the week. On the bright side, I got all of my brooders set up! Honestly, I don't usually do this much!
