Thank you all. Kes's story I was told by the local Humane Society was that someone found her as a puppy dumped alongside a highway west of Atlanta and took her home. Their 16 yr old yappy dog hated her and they put her outside. When they realized she wasn't made to stay outside like that, they gave her to the Humane Society where she had been living with a foster mom till the day at Petsmart when I went looking for a pal for Cody, who was then 3 years old, also a Petsmart adoptee. The vet said she appeared to be about 8 months old at the time we got her. Cody, who never tolerated any other dogs, was just fine with her and they were great pals up until he died a few years ago at the age of 12.

Cyn,
This hatch of mine is setting a record for the longest hatch I have ever had. I am thinking it had to do with the power outage. It is driving me crazy. I do not usually let them go on this long. I can now relate to your hatch!

The ones on the left hatched first, from incubator #1 (old HovaBator). This bator contained SLW, Delawares, Lavender Orps. The Dels are just now starting to hatch (3 or so out). On the right is from incubator #2 (Genesis), which has NH, Barred Rocks, and Jersey Giants. The BRs are about 1/4 done and the JGs are just now pipping (their eggs are jumbo or larger). These last ones are very sticky. As the humidity rises from the wet chicks hatching, the humidity rises and causes this. I hate having sticky chicks.

I am sorry, Cyn. Kes sounds like such a sweet soul, just like my dogs. Where was she when I came?

Cute babies, Kathy!

Brandon, good luck on the hatch. I am goon into day five with mine tomorrow morning.
