15 chicks have hatched, 1 died. 3 eggs left.....I moved 1 egg when I was looking at the chicks and the chick inside was tap tap tapping away on the shell. Hopefully those 3 will also hatch....today is day 20 or 21 I think.....didn't keep track....

We shall see!

Currently at the vet with a sick dog. How the heck did she get sick? Who knoooooows......

Good hatches, Nella! Those broodies of yours are the best!

Good morning y'all! Hope everyone had a relatively quiet night compared to the last few!

Nick, congrats! Now, go sit on your hands until that hatch is complete and keep those grubby little mitts of yours out of the incubator! Mother Nature knows best, as do Kathy and Cyn! You're talking to the two Queens of Incubator Hatching! Listen to them!

Kathy, at this very moment, Maggie is sitting under the table saw on five beautiful blue/green eggs. Three are hers and two are Cosette's. If she sits all day, I shall be sorely tempted to scoop her and eggs up and stick them all in the brooder. You just never know.

The only drawback to this idea, is that sometime this week, my local feed store will be getting in Del pullets from Privet. (sp?)

What to do?!? What to do?!? I want more of Maggie's children, but I also want some purebred Del's, and I've heard good things about Privet's stock. Such a dilemma!

Seriously? Just say the word, and I'll figure out how to do that. I still have the box that Maggie and the girls arrived in you know!

How many do ya want?

But as to why not do both, well...there's a small issue of space! Were it not for Emmett, I'd have plenty of room to do both!

If only there were time to get Emmett's new outdoor house built before the Privett Del's get here! Too much on my plate!!

Amy, I haven't touched chicks all morning! Except for the ones that were already in the recovery bator which I moved to the brooder. That doesn't matter, does it?

And Amy, I don't get why you don't just get some Del hatching eggs from Beth or someone on sdwd, and stick 'em under a broody? Why not? I LOVE mine! But if you get Privett Dels, I am sure that you will love them!

Speaking of, I got some pictures of my Dels from Cyn today. They are now 13 weeks old... Hatched Jan 28th.

Then I have one other pullet, but didn't attempt to photograph because she is EVIL. Hate her! Can't wait to get her out of this place...

What's the evil pullet doing, Nick? I can see another reason not to hatch anymore of Georgie's babies, aside from the dwarf and hock issues. They are just too darn dark/solid in the hackles, all of them, both male and female. Shame, too, since Georgie has nice type and a decent comb.

Those yellow legs are awesome, though! Wow! I'm proud of those.

I will say that the photo is making Jess's hackles look darker than they actually are- She has the lightest. Also need to check her comb for points. Cassidy, though, has great beak color! It's very noticeable. I think that Jay's type is okay. Agreed?

I have noticed the yellow legs from the start... They haven't just faded. It's great, isn't it?

Oh, almost forgot, the evil pullet is just SO flighty, loud, and dumb! She can't find anyone, so skittish, and will peck ya! She just screams all day. Not very Delaware-like.
