I agree with the other posts. If you want to add a new roo you may have to put the new roo and some girls in a different pen. The only success I have had with having two or more boys in one pen is if the pen is large enough so the subordinate boys can get away from the dominate boy and they grew up together. It has been also that time of the year when the boys aren't doing a good job. Fertility should pick up as the days get longer and warmer.

Also too even if you can get two males to get along in a pen with hens. The dominant male is going to do his best to knock the other off the hen while mating. It is survival of the fittest at it very best only the strong survive which means they WILL make sure of that.

The hatch date is suppose to be tomorrow evening (unless I counted wrong).

This is just kind of a test hatch. No Delawares, but quite a few New Hampshires.

With my Dels, if I add a young roo he seems to not be a problem. They all get along just fine. Though I can't say all three were fertilizing the eggs.

Here's some of the latest chicks. The inc is loaded again. I believe it will be the last hatch for the year.

These are Dels and BM's and a Lav orp from the second hatch. There were 24 total but I traded a bunch for 10 bags of horse manure. It was worth it to me since they bagged and delivered the manure.

These are BM's from the first hatch of the season. 4 total. Two pullets and two roos. There about 5 weeks old now.

Tom

I had one that ran on oil. I had pics. Couldn't find any parts or instructions on how to use it . Gave it back to sil father and he tossed it. I was not happy about that. An old Sears. He's got some old brooders too I think.

Lots of work those things. There is a chicken museum out west.
