Well Cyn, Georgia girls is def laying, found another small but firm egg in the corner of the coop. Now I just have to get her to lay them in the nest boxes.
She's not with my other Dels.
I can't find my camera to post pics. Things here are in an upheaval and it must have got misplaced. DD is due any day I guess. Darcy should be here soon.
I don't know why but all the birds hung out near the coop and run today. Thats' strange for them. I didn't see anything unusual, unless it was me mowing the grass. They don't usually get spooked by the mower. Heck I've run the cordless saw in the coop and had to shoo them away.
I haven't been letting Nick and the girls out of the run during the day so I can keep track of how many eggs they are laying. Only got 2/5 today. Considering I dont' know how old the 4 CNY girls are I won't be upset. The other two are hatchery girls. Looks like the chick with the hen (CNY girl) is a roo. Darn. I do have a CM with two Del chicks but have no sign of what sex they are. One seems a little more independent than the other and that gives me cause for concern. I want hens. They both seem to wander farther from mom than I like.
If I had the place to keep young chicks I'd be fireing up the incubator now. They'd be at least two months old before the snow flies.
