5 kids, 18 years between oldest and youngest. Youngest will be 20 years old soon. I am sooooo done raising kids!

Me, too, but now my 31 yr old son is going to stay here awhile during a "transition" period. He has no idea what chores I'm dreaming up for him. Bet he never knew he was going to learn, hands-on, about raising and keeping chickens...and painting coops, and scrubbing deck railings, and cleaning out the basement and crawl space, etc, etc. Oh, yeah, I'm gonna have me some "slave labor". Well, if he's going to eat my food and generally be here, then he can pay for it, in one way or another.

How the heck do ya get rid of them anyway? (kids AND roosters!)

I have one in the guest house, who will never leave (and that's ok). DD came home a week ago to be with mama because she was sick (she is 6 months preg), and I see no sign of her leaving! The one DS that finally left (26 yrs old) says he is coming back!

I thought having a guest house was a good idea ............. AT FIRST!!

You do what my mother did you make their live a living he.. til they leave at a dead run. Just don't do it the way she did. Sounds to me like Cyn going at it the right way though.

My DD and SIL are living here now and I'm not sure I've made the right choices. This economy is not good for kids leaving home.

My DS is in the military, protecting us,him and his just moved to Alabama. My DD and her hus, just moved to TX for her teaching job. Aint any here in NYS that's for sure. From what I've heard on the news Georgia ain't any better.

I offered my DD that went to TX $2000.00 to take her sister with her. No deal. I was just kidding but catch me on the right day and you can have her.

If they came up with a pain pill that targeted the butt, we parents would feel a lot better.

Okay, wait a minute.....I moved out a few years ago...finally....so here is what you guys complaining about kids at home have to look forward to?

When my parents come here on vacation I put THEM to work. Dad helped me replace part of the deck, fixed my car and changed oil and rotated tires on the truck, replaced spare tire on car, did lawn work, helped me build a pen and haul feed, etc when he was here a few weeks ago. Mom cleaned my porch and the inside of my house, did dishes, cooked food for me and even helped take care of the chickens. Plus she did the weed whacking around the house, scrambled up the extra eggs for the chickens and scrubbed my sad porch swing sparkling clean.

Now............do you really want them to move out? Or do you want my parents to move in?
