Get yourself one of those wooden toy guns and paint it black, then have a scarecrow holding it on its shoulder.
Dangle some CD's from their hands, too, so you have unpredictable movement.

And buy some hideously bright doggy outfits to dress the chickers in as well. If you can't take the peeps 'off the market' then you can least make them appear tasteless.

Those are some fine-looking babies! You have a partridge rainbow going on.

Do you still want another pullet or two for Cheyenne's millie flock?

I would love another little girl for Emmett, that will give me a trio of Milles and a trio or porcelain. Did you notice how tiny they still are? And they eat like pigs! hahaha When you get a chance look at the silkies again, I think I have another boy...not sure, no crowing but it is much smaller than the one that is crowing so maybe he is staying low key?

My definite boy crowing and all:

I will get one to Nella before her trip (but not so early that it becomes hawk bait, since they ARE tiny birds!). And they do stay tiny. Remember that TN looks big because he puffs and strutts. There are a lot of feathers over that scrawny body LOL.

I am still amazed that Jet grew into a dark partridge! Is her body black or dark blue? It's hard to tell in the photos...

I'd say #2 is looking like a subordinate roo. I've seen it before in silkies, where one roo is on charge so the other stays 'immature'. I think I have a similar set-up in my current pen. Maestro is definitely all boy, and I'm afraid Spikley (my little lovebug) is a roo

I may have to rehome Spikely, because I just don't have space for any spare roos.

Lori...Jet's body is entirely black except for the markings on her neck and chest. Also a tad in the back of her head. The markings go all the way around her neck and into her chest...here is a better pic to show the black

How old is the Mille you will send? Emmett and Esma came June 5th I do believe. Thanks Nella for the transport

Ugh.....got home after dark today......my big old dog pooped and peed all over his crate, sigh. 3 chickens were roosting in the garage. again.......

Got everyone locked up and found a "dead" baby and no more eggs under my half blind broody. Went to remove it and it was still alive. Looks half squashed, but might just be because it is new. She is not clucking.....not sure what happened.....it was kind of squashed in the back of the hutch and was cold, so i just stuck it underneath her. I'll either have a dead baby in the morning or a revived baby. Ugh. Yesterday there were two eggs but I have had almost no fertlity so the other probably broke and fell through the hutch flooring as has happened on all the others.

Well my day sucked, how 'bout yours? LOL

Well, our house payment is going up by $40 due to an escrow shortage caused by losing homestead exemption and homeowner's going up. No cost of living raise for retired military this year or next year, either. Something has to give.

Sorry about the baby, Janelle. Smoky squashed her only baby as it was zipping a couple months ago. She was a newbie at it, so maybe she'll do better next time.
