Amy..I cannot send you the husband's chicken...Cannonball is his girl...she was supposed to be his "Isaac Jr" but alas she was a girl. She is the only chicken than husband even touches of course he has no choice because she launches herself on him.

I do not mind the unruliness it is the flock mayhem that gets me...Severus has absolutely no control whatsoever and I have girls chasing cars down the road (white of course to be confused with my truck), girls swinging on the porch swing (Cannonball and Bella a BO) and girls everywhere.

Kathy..thank you. I enjoy taking pics of them and their antics. We do have a lot of fun. We re-banded the Chachingers while we were there too. Believe it or not, Sarah does not ride, she has only broodmares. She raises babies for the track and in Soapy's case...probably the hunter jumper class. hahahaha I have been trying to get a lot of pics of them as they are growing up because in January they go to the sales. I myself have ridden once since I left Oregon. I plan to ride a lot once Joleta gets here, gets settled and we see how she likes a saddle and riding. Joleta has not had anyone ride her in many years so...we have some work to do.

Here is a cute pic from yesterday...the barn cat, Angel, comes inside to visit...mainly my husband, and she sits with him and such. Yesterday she decided to drag my shoe around the kitchen. LOL

Hope yall have had a terrific weekend!!!

Been fairly uneventful here... cept for later today, I'm gonna let the guineas out to free range and I'm SUPER nervous. But, at 12 1/2 weeks, they've gotten a bit grumpy being cooped up even with a nice sized run. Gonna build a door on the run, a ramp for the other roost area in the coop, get the windows plasticed over for draft protection. I might even get lucky and get the duck house done, so I can convince DH to let me order some nice adult Runner pairs from Holderread

Cynthia... that tablecloth you made was stunning

SnowHunter I am with you there...nylon halters are dangerous! I have seen what can happen and would never put one on my horse...except maybe to walk it but not 24/7. Sarah is the same way. The babys have halter that are a little loose but they are safer than nylon for sure and they break away so

Thanks for noticing that.

I love my tablecloth, Cynthia is so talented.

Cynthia we did not make it to the movie....maybe next weekend. We had 3 chickens that would not go inside (an EE Sandy, a RIR Padma and Luna) I could not leave them outside to become bait so we missed the movie. Unruly misbehaving brats!

Another day in paradise. Chicken sale yesterday yielded zero chicken sales for me......sigh......brought everyone back home and got them banded and pix taken before putting them away. Craigslist here I come!

Stupid roosters decided to gang up on one of the returning boys. He was just shredded this morning. He was gone from that pen a whopping 14 hours, most of which was sleeptime. Stupid roosters. So now he is in one of the garage brooders recuperating.

Pretty sure it is my mille fleur cochin rooster who is doing the damage. A while back my mottled rooster got shredded and it was on a day that the mille got was accidently let loose (petsitter).

I put a few new roosters out in the big yard yesterday but they did fine. I watched a few scuffles but no damage and everyone sorted out their place. My drake hates my younger blue cochin rooster and it is hilarious to watch him chase him around.

I put the bumblefoot girl back outside. She is not cured but I am sort of at a loss for now, so she can spend her days out and about at least. I can always catch her in the coop at night for treatment. Noticed my other white leghorn is finally molting. She is missing her tail but growing in beautiful new white feathers over her "over-roostered" spots. I have so many molters right now. And still getting a dozen eggs a day. I'll be in trouble when the molters are done and the younger birds also start up. 3 dozen a day, here I come, LOL.

I went and bought new clippers, shampoo and a new brush.......time to destink the toy poodle. Poor stinky Bella.....she needs a hairdo like I need a lottery win.

Ladyhawk, I have to apologize for some of that tablecloth. It is, admittedly, not my finest work, but I was in such a hurry to get it to you, I just sped through some of it. At least, from a distance, it looks pretty good and because I made it all one direction, like a bed cover, you can actually use it for that in the future. Two in one!

Maxie is trying to kill herself. She is happily eating...and eating....and eating, to the point that stuff comes back out of her mouth. Her crop was huge, but she is postively skeletal. Not sure how this will play out but she is in no shape to be with a rooster now, so she is in the hospital crate and let out during the day when no one else is roaming.

Nellabean, sorry to hear bout the roo

HA!!! Kathy- I now have something to show DH to prove we don't need a real pond for ducks! Those little houses are pretty cool - and the pan just lifts out for cleaning, I bet. Nicole, are you building that yourself, or do you have help?

Cetawin, hate to tell you Jo will come to you with a nylon halter......

I have never had a problem if I buy the really heavy ones, but I have heard of problems on babies when people use the cheap little skinny ones.

Nella, I am sorry your roo got shredded, hope he recovers. OUCH.

Everyone be proud of Ultrasuede, please. I let him and his girls out under the maple tree, and let Harriet and the Maniacs out with them - the Maniacs are 13 weeks old, and are as big and bigger than Harriet, but still making chickie peeping noises, and they are right next to the Orps, so I though it might work. Well Harriet is a little witch in a lot of ways, and she and Satin grabbed each others combs and went at it, and Ultrasuede went racing across to them and broke them up. I was SO proud of him. Then he looked at the Maniacs, and looked at me as if to say, "I don't have to LIVE with them PERMANENTLY, do I? This is just for an hour or so, right?" Then he spent the hour slowly pacing back and forth between his women and H and her kids, making sure there was no more trouble.

Cynthia, if that table runner is sloppy work, I will eat it. It's beautiful!

Hey Tim, are you around?Did you ever contact that phone number in NY regarding Dels?
