Kathy I have had them too...I used to take them to work for lunch when my schedule was nuts so I could pop it in the microwave and be done with it. Some of them are really good.

Whoo, busy weekend, and I am back!

I will be snapping some pics of the chicks and hopefully uploading them here soon. Unfortuantly, the more I look at them, the more it looks like I might have 5 roos and four hens *sigh*. This is not going to be fun.


Looking into what I need for college to eventually become a veterinarian... In short... A LOT.

Anyways, that's what's up here.

Cetawin you have my sympathy. Don't be to hard about the suicide business. Teen suicide is on the increase. I never thought my kids would have to attend a funeral for a young person but they did. My neices son committed suicide this summer. As for the teacher business and the name calling giv'em hell. Take care

Okay, here's pics of my birds and all. I will probably post these somewhere else too, when I figure out where/what questions I want to ask. Mostly concerned about the tiny chick. It's the same age as the others (nearly two weeks), but still looks like it's 4 days old or so. Very odd.

Cetawin, I'm so sorry to hear about the troubles with the school system... quite steamed too

Busy busy busy here!!! The cold snap took a toll on the herd

The cows look awful. We finally had the ok to have the vet out for the downed heifer (She's been down for a week w/no known reason/cause) and she checked her and the herd and said they looked run down.. VERY embarassing, but at least I knew she understood we're doin the best with the options we have at the moment. I've been stuffin em full of hay the last week, so at least they looked somewhat better. The heifer was loaded with worms

but her internal organs are functioning just fine

so now we have to build something to lift her with, and chance getting the tractor down to where shes at.

So between tonight and Saturday, DH and I gotta make a stay/go list, for the winter pasture relocation, get some sort of lift contraption built, get wormers sorted and ready to go amongst everything else, and get a plan together for better pasture management/rotation for next year to discuss with the owner tomorrow. Lawd my brain is already fried

I sure hope this lil heifer keeps up her good attitude. I don't wanna put another one down.

Hang in there SnowHunter most of those little heifers are tough girls, at least that has been my experience. It might be time to grain them a little gal. Breathe deeply and have a cup of tea...then go at it. That is what I am doing.

Speaking of tea, while I was out Salmon shopping I found a lovely tea for Beth and I to try thursday after dinner.... Chocolate Hazelnut Tea

I also found some wonderful wild pacific salmon and mix that with fresh baked bread, some baked sweet potatoes and whatever desert Beth brings and we got it going on. hehehehe

So tomorrow is finish the work on the coop, get everyone moved into the big coop, major house cleaning before I allow Beth to see this place...Cheyenne's evaluation is set for 10:45 am Thursday morning and her formal withdrawal from school should take place about 11:50 am or so when they are finished with their dog and pony show.

Meanwhile...back to schedule the pick up of my horsey...

Well Myrtle,Peep, and Boone have moved outside into one side of the brooder this morning . Since we are having warmer weather decided just to go on and move them out of the kitchen. So my kitchen is chicken free at least for a couple more days, lol .Checked on them when I got in from work and seem to be adjusting. My eggs go on lockdown in the morning.
