Alright, somebody needs to lock the back gate so i am not tempted to run out and check under the broodies again.
*twiddles thumbs*
So far I had a yellow with black spot on head, a partridge chimpmunk looking one....and I think a couple more yellowish ones. They were all olive eggs but two different shades of olive, so from at least 2 of my girls. Pretty sure the yellowish chicks come from my auracanaX olive egger.....any blacks should come from my black copper/ameracuana olive egger....thinking the chipmunky ones come from my easter egger/marans girl with the cheeks.
Anyone have any good ideas for a broody compound? I think I am going to need a private coop and pen for the broodies and babies only......
Cynthia, it IS beautiful where you're at!!! I've been up that way a couple times, and its absolutely breath taking
So the shrinkwrapped chick is doin wonderfully!!! I left her in the bator with a wet towel and she was done in about 45 minutes! Noisy lil booger, and she has been begging me to get out, so I made sure she was dry and brought her out to broody Mama Turkey and she accepted her
So they're out in the big brooder with a heat lamp. My plan is to give her the chicks as they hatch... though no other pips or any movement that I can see.... but I can brood them on thier own if Mama won't take em...
She's just a little Leghorn/Production Red chick (its possible she's part Dellie though) but she's adorable and SOOO tiny!!!
All of these eggs could be part Dellie. Guess we'll see as they hatch
Ok heres my update. 8 chicks at the moment. 5 JGs,2BLRWs,1 EE. The eggs in the bator are quiet, but its day 21 so I still can go a couple more days. If worse comes to worse i'm still very happy with what I got!

Now, you're talkin' my kinda talk, girl! Let's see now ..... hmmmm, a broody compound, huh? Sounds very interesting, and doable! Yeah, you can do it! Get to work on those plans. That may keep ya busy for awhile, and you will leave those broody mamas alone so they can finish hatchin' ! YAY, babies!
Brandon ....
Congrats on your hatches, too! I love those babies!
