I'mmmmm BAAAAAACK!!!
Mwwwuuaaaahaaahaaahaaahaa!! Betcha all thought I was gone for good! Didn't ya! Come on, admit it! You were hopin'!
Nope! No such luck! Just like a bad penny, I'm back in circulation again!
So, obviously there was about 10 tons of catching up to do. And I got through most of it, but I couldn't stand it any longer, so I skipped ahead the last three pages just so that I could announce my return. And to tell you all how much I missed you guys so very
VERY much!!
Kathy, that baby is just about the most precious thing I've seen since the birth of our Annie. Not all babies are pretty at birth. My heavens NO! But your little Kayson is a shoe-in for Most Beautiful Baby status in my book!
Tell mama I think she done did a most excellent job on that little bun! And I bet she's terribly relieved to finally have him out of the oven!
Cetawin, I think I've ridden the emotional roller coaster with you over the last hour and a half of reading all of the posts about your sis!
I'm so relieved to hear that the doctor does NOT think it's cancer. My prayers tonight will be for him being right about this. As well, I pray they can isolate whatever this is and treat it most expeditiously. I've watched too many of my family, friends, and family members of friends, die of cancer in the last 10 years. My heart sank right to my toes when you first reported about your sister. Most definitely, she and you, are in my prayers for a quick and painless recovery. I wouldn't worry one bit about Cheyenne by the way. That little girl has a wonderful head on her shoulders [she gets that from her mama, you know!
] and I know she'll just totally blow away the DSHS worker when she has her interview. Tell her to relax and just let her usual bubbly self come through. They'll figure it out soon enough. You know how these so called "Public Service" people can be...constantly trying to justify their paycheck!
Just know that I'm way out west here, thinking, praying and hoping the best for you and your family in all things!
Beth! It sounds like ya had a great time at the Ohio show. Did ya get a line on any new Dels? Were there many there? What else caught your eye that you just couldn't live without?
Welcome home to you to dear lady!
Well, the trip over to Mom's was completely uneventful, as was the return drive. It was so good to see mom, but I'm totally happy to be back home. I got back just shortly before sunset [I assume; the sky was very overcast and dark with heavy rain clouds] tonight. Just barely in time to see most of my babies out free ranging and having a good time, despite the weather.
I guess they missed me as badly as I missed them, because Chief and over half of the girls came running to the car when I pulled in. And that sweet and marvelous rooster of mine all but dived right into my arms the instant I knelt down to my knees. Ingrid couldn't wait for Chief's cuddling to be done and over with and decided if she was going to get
any attention before bedtime, she was going to have to jump up on my back!! That prompted Dottie to climb right up onto my one knee so she could look me better right in the eyes!
In less than 30 seconds, I was completely surrounded by the sweet clucks, chuckles, brrrrrrs and purring trills of my babies!
Is there anything better than a home coming? And then the DH came out of the house and noticed I was home!
Yeah, I got hugs from him too!
OMG! I thought poor Brutus, Red and CB were going to dance themselves into oblivion when I walked over to check on them.
I wish y'all could have seen little CB! He really outdone himself with some pretty fancy dancing! What a shame that he had to waste all of that effort on a human!
But it sure done my heart good to see them all in such high spirits and happy to see me. Ya just can't beat chicken therapy! Ya just can't!
Anyhow folks, that was a loooong 5 hour drive. I know I said it was uneventful, but only in so far as I made it alive. Not a scratch on the car, and my nerves largely intact. But the weather was a bit of a bear coming through much of Snoqualmie pass, and that right there makes for an exhaustive drive. Not to mention the wind that was still screaming across the land in Easter Washington. Talk about fighting to keep the car on the road at some points. I'm just glad that my little car is fairly low to the ground. Many of the semi's were fighting a lot harder than I was to keep their tractor trailer rigs on the road!
But made it I did! And I'm just soooo HAPPY to be HOME!!!
Now, if you'll all excuse me, my eyes are going crossed with fatigue. Let me get a decent night's sleep and I shall pick up tomorrow where we left off. I hope y'all have a wonderful evening and a bright and glorious day tomorrow!
I so missed all of you, my little Internet family!
