Jo looks great! I can see she appreciates the Christmas decor, too. I see that look in her eye! She is wanting that stocking to be full of candy canes from Santa. I'm thinking she will be a good girl, and get that, too!

LADIES LADIES...GUESS WHAT. I sold 3 bantam cochin hens tonight.

That is great Janelle...I am glad she is going to a great home. So are you putting up decorations for your hateful horse or is she too hateful for such things? Jo is getting her little Christmas tree put up tomorrow so Santa can leave her gifts under a tree

I think her tree shall be done in blue and silver with red apple ornaments and candy canes.

I don't know, I need to go visit Ms Foxy this weekend. She really isn't hateful. She is actually quite sweet and friendly. She just makes hateful faces for pictures and I like to joke about it. Maybe I will go visit her this weekend and bring her some candy canes.

Kathy, i am slowing become an EX-ChickenHoarder. I am so proud of meeeeeeeeeeeee.

I know she is not hateful, she is a sweetie. I think she needs a christmas stocking though...really, she deserves it after putting up with your antics for pictures hehehe

Kathy, Jo is really happy and doing so much better since I changed up her feeding schedule and so forth....when she got here her feeding schedule was 1 scoop of grain and 2 flakes a hay in the morning and at night...but midday she was always flighty and irritable...she was hungry so I am changing up her food to a milled food with fast track in it, which is a probiotic to help with digestion and gut bacteria...then I increased her to 2 scoops and 3 flakes morning and night. Now she is happy as a clam and not irritated during the day.

By the way...the Fast Track is great for the chickens, dogs and so forth too. I add it to my girls' feed and it is added by weight...check it out here to read about it

Fast Track

I get it at Southern States, TSC has it too and I put it in the dog feed, the chicken, the ducks and the mill adds it to Jo's food. Sarah and I are ordering our horse feed together straight from the mill and it is awesome.

Holy cow, I was counting chickens on my spreadsheet (ha) and looks like I have.........*drum roll*.........

69 chickens!

I was up to about 150 during the height of this year, I believe.

My original goal was to get down to 50. Well, I expect to sell maybe 5 more this weekend. Depending on who I have left, I will have to decide where to go from there. I do plan on keeping all my olive egger girls from the broodies....plan on getting rid of all boys except for maybe 1 or 2.

Of my 69 chickens, I have 24 more I would be willing to sell, plus 1 I want to cull. That would get me to.......44! Wow!

anyone want to buy a chicken? LOL
