see Kathy, I'm just making ROOM for all these little monkeys you plan on giving me. Ha.

Inky, I am downsizing my bantam collection as I have too many and hawks LOVE my place. Currently it is just a bunch of bantam cochin hens. I think I have 2 blacks, 1 red, 1 buff/partridge, 1 barred, 1 partridge and 1 lavender left......Partridge I am going to sell with my partridge rooster. I have an extra mottled rooster so I am going to part with one of my mottled girls to get rid of him. I have a couple bantam mixes that probably will go tomorrow...a silver laced cochin/aracuana cross and a silkie/cochin. I do still have my 3 girls in the garage under heat, so if someone was able to keep them under heat to transition them outside, I would be willing to sell them also.

I love my "big girls" and am going to just keep them....along with my bantam mottled cochin breeding flock. Just something about those mottleds......

Wow if i were close i might have to come take a look! LOL Yeah i am a fan of anything speckled - mottled - spangled - teehee. Like a crow with a shiny coin - i am mesmerized with the markings.
Well so it is going good then? Will leave you with only the ones you want?

Are you anywhere near Dayton, OH? If you are, and wanted the bantam mottled cochin pair (both pullet and cockerel are about 8 months), we could work something out

I will be in Dayton Ohio the weekend of January 15th.

No worries, I hate selling any of my mottled girls....but need to get rid of my extra boy.

He lives all the way in Dayton? not far from me at all -
I am thinking the pair comes with a rooster LOL poof in the Cochin business tho my friend would be happy as he raises Cochins

I'm getting excited.

I have 2 (Icelandics) pips! One from my girls, and one from Mary's. I have 18 eggs in the hatcher, and 6 or 7 are Icelandics, a couple Silkies, and the others are Delawares.


Oh, oh, oh..... 2 Delaware pips, now!

Geezzzz, I sure love hatching!

Though i had to chuckle a while ago - picture it - Knox at work trying to do his work- but not feeling it today. Instead? He is reading threads on BYC - i stumble across the fascinating thread about icelandics and read a great article or two - low and behold who is on there? Miss Kathy! I am not sure if anyone else notices this but she is almost on every thread i subscribe to! Minus i think Australorps- she is my chicken hero!
