Sdwd

I did see that.....I have two incubators in storage, so would not even attempt it. Plus, who wants to hatch 3 eggs?!!? I like big hatches........integration of small hatches is too hard.

But wow....what a nice prize!!

I bet your little niece would like it!

Time to whip out Thor crowing pics....I want that little thing! It would be perfect for setting 3 or 4 d'uccle eggs. hmmmmmmmmm

Kathy...where do I get the info to submit the photos?

Okay everyone.... May SDWD Fling at Cetawin's

We can do it Friday, May 6th thru Sunday, May 8, 2011 or Friday May 13 through Sunday May 15, 2011

May 8th is Mother's Day soooo that could be a problem for some of you ladies.... for those with a fear of Friday the 13th, the second choice could be a problem...

Sooooo what weekend do you want?

I think we could arrange to do the following if you all are interested...

of course the building/construction of neat little brooders and such with NellaBean

having hooks made for your coops...ie blacksmithed as you watch by my DH

a general chicken first aid demonstration with Cyn showing us about bumblefoot (because she is coming....one way or another)

Hatching eggs, chick/chicken swap and etc. (I will set up a designated area for all swap birds to be so that they are not in contact with my flock or ducks or where they have been....so everyone can feel better about biosececurity....I am sure we can set up a canopy or something to put them all under)

Plumbing and powering coops discussion...we can bounce ideas off each other at a minimum

Major food, fun and gabbing

Also...let it be known...spouses/SOs and kids welcomed; small children will need to be supervised. I know Lori's daughter will want to come, Cheyenne will be here, Scott has boys and etc.

I do not have kennel facilities or anything like that so any puppies, kitties or etc coming to be traded or sold will need to be in crates. same with any bunnies etc etc.

If we are going to have kids here, I can make arrangements for them to have some activities to participate in as well.

So...what do you guys think of a donation type thing...something small like $10/$15 per adult for supplies etc etc...we will provide food and all that stuff of course. But, that will give me extra funds for metal for hooks and for the building projects, first aid stuffs yada yada? what do you all think....is that fair or unreasonable?

We have room for camping if anyone wants to pitch a tent or to park a small camper or two...I have bathrooms and shower of course. There is a Motel 6 and Days Inn one exit south of us on I-75.

So thoughts ideas comments?

I can hardly wait! Sounds like tons of fun! Sadieville Swap and Build at Cetawin's! Any date is good with me. I plan to get a motel room. I'm to old to camp anymore.

Anyway, I don't sleep much, and would keep you all up all night. Money .... heck, I think we need to send you more than that little bit!

As you saw from the pictures, Joleta is perfectly happy in this cold weather...the ducks are happy, the chickens are ticked off and well one dog is absolutely livid over the entire mess....

That would be the chicken guardian, Blue. (ignore the ugly woman holding him...she hangs around here way too much)

Not happy at all...he comes out from under his blankie to eat and go outside to potty. LOL

And that I have so dang much work to do on the house in the spring. And too many chickens to leave behind in good conscience.

It just ain't fair I tell ya!

Beth, did you get my PM ok? The one with Walt's bio? Don't forget! No publishing of it until I hear back from him. Let me know if I need to make any changes. Sorry again that it took me so darn long. What can I say? I'm the Queen of Procrastination for one thing. Not a good combination to go along with a busy life, ya know!

Kathy!!! How much do you want for that little BR gal? Has she started laying yet? How old is she? Lordy she is purdy! I'd love to see her cuddled up to Ivy and Rosie at night!
love.gif
Hey! There's always room for one more BR, right?

Cyn, if you ever could make a video of treating a bumble foot, I'd be eternally indebted to you! I'm still struggling with Evie's as well. I don't know if this is a new one, or if I just didn't get all of it the first time. All I know for sure is that it's there now.
sad.png
Poor little thing. She gimps around terribly, but she's still full of p*ss and vinegar all the same!
lol.png
Still laying real good too. Must be a testament to just how strong she is.

Nella, you ain't the only one who's gonna miss our Miss Kathy whenever she goes back to work.
sad.png
I've gotten so used to having her here all day. Come on Kathy! Hurry up and buy that winning lottery ticket so that you don't have to go back to work!!!
lol.png

OK, it's about 11pm my time. And you know what that means! Time for me to go beddy-bye!!
hugs.gif
Pleasant dreams y'all. Don't forget to hug your chickens!

Oh yeah Kathy that is the 10lb menace....he will be 10 years old in June so there have been pics of him posted plenty of times. LOL
