Floods, that's what we fear. When we were retiring from the Air Force while stationed in Utah (2nd time there), we were going to relocate to Macon GA where Warner Robins AFB is. Well, the entire area was under water and we had to scrap our plans. That alone scares me about moving to flat land. Being flooded out of apartments on several occasions for various reasons made us water-shy. No way on earth we'd be flooded up here, right, LH?

Yard full o' rocks :

Wooooo hooooo.....morning started at 11F, and we are up to a whopping 36!!! Supposed to hit 40 later today. I am ready to be done with this stuff.

I do not wish summer were back.....just enough of the white stuff

Same here! Though Summer sounds great now- more chickens!!

Hey, everyone! I haven't had school all week, so obviously the snow is taking a lot of my time, lol. We got six inches and it's still covering the ground. The chickens haven't had snow before so are super confused. Every time their feet touch the snow they flap up into a tree. Plus, they've all been laying right through it!

Also, I've been helping my next door neighbor set up her flock of three. "I only want three" she says. HA! She's getting a small tractor and I picked out the breeds for her- Speckled Sussex, RSL and DELAWARE (woot!) all seem to fit her requirements. She's also been helping me with my plans and the egg biz. Amelia, my White Rock also got frostbite, but I caught it just in time and the vaseline is working great.

Cyn, have you decided what you're hatching in the Spring yet? You mentioned that maybe I could come up and get one if you have any leftover. If so, that'd be great! I haven't met ANYONE on this site, so it would be fun.

I took a BUNCH of chicken pics today... and one really cute one of me and Pepper with my friend. Does anyone know how I can upload multiple images to the forum? Or could I use Photobucket?

Nick, I am hatching Barred Rocks (show quality lines), BBS Rocks, Blue Wheaten Ameraucanas and Porcelain D'Uccles. Right now, I have some BBS Orps and Delawares in the bator starting into Day 7 and will candle those tonight. I will not be keeping any of the Delawares or Orps, though. Will hold out a couple Blue Orp cockerels and pullets for Ladyhawk, if they are even fertile, but won't keep any for myself.

And for the record- the cigarette in her mouth is not mine, I asked my neighbor for it. Lol.

ETA: Cyn, good luck!
