I have been giving some thought on my flock of birds too. DH would really like a BA roo and since this is the only one he has asked for and he is my general laborer and maintenance man, I may have to arrange to get one. I am keeping the dels but want some new blood lines mixed with them. Also I want to keep the welsummers and a couple of EE's and try for an OE. I do have my old coop I could use but it is so much easier to have them all in one big coop so I cannot have more than will fit in my big coop.
Here is what my chicken igloo looked like today. We are supposed to be getting more lake effect snow tonight and tomorrow. It got up to 15 degrees today.
I have my eye on Suede Babies! I need a Suede son.
I hope to have porcelain d'uccle babies for the May get together...so everyone can go home with them. hehehehehe Lori will be off the hook because she started this bantam craze of mine and has enough d'uccles but if she wants some well then she can have some too.
Okay all I am off to a hot bath after first bundling up, going to the barn and visiting with Jo for a bit. I shall return. You have been warned so don't be surprised when I get back. muahahahaha
We're going down to below 20 tonight, again. I'm sick of this protracted frigid period we're having! Hillbilly Hen has a dog that is probably loving this weather, though, I see. My son has a Siberian Husky who is right at home in the snow, though the poor dog spends 95% of his time locked in the garage while they work long hours.

Good grief, Laura! I am not gonna complain about scooping my measly 2 inches of snow now! YIKES, you are gonna be snowed in for sure, aren't ya? That igloo is holding up beautifully for ya! I love it!
Oh Yes Kodi is really loving this weather! DH is the one who has to go out and play with him though... not me. Funny thing is Kodi will sleep so close to the woodstove that his fur will be almost too hot to touch
Yest the run is holding up real well. Thought about scraping the snow off but with the below zero temps we figured it would help insulate it some. For the most part it will just slide off the plactic cover. My builder builds things to last. Too bad he didn't build me.
