No bantams for me Ms LH. They get killed by hawks here. I have 3 bantams in my big flock currently. the one single EE hen that nobody wanted, my boyfriend gold lace bantam cochin rooster (stunted funny looking dude) and the newest addition, the weird blue mottled cochin rooster dude.

My plan is for the bantams to live in the old ladies' coop with my elderly girls. They don't free range much, but I'll have to figure out how to keep the little critters from flying out of the pen, not a problem with the LF ladies.

Yup, seems like bantams are hawk food here, too. The only birds I have lost to hawks were 2 Silkies. Dang hawk dived right into the door way of the little coop and got one right in front of Brock. NO chicken nuggets for me ....

(My Silkies have netting on their run!)

Her end of the barn is fairly dark...the interior light is towards the other end and then the light on her end is outside so she does not have light shining right in her stall when she is getting her beauty rest.

See why I want it to warm up? I have to finish the top edge of her stall...she cannot have it all uneven and such. Not to mention all the chicken and duck stuff I want to get done, yard stuff to do, house stuff to do and etc before the May get together. Woot!

She is having a pedicure next Thursday and then meets her new vet the following monday and has a dental check up. she now has her own date planner.
