**Shuffling in, cup of tea in hand, rubbing the sleep from my eyes** Good God! What have you people been doing? I take ONE day away from this place and return to find that I'm nearly TWO whole pages behind!
Nella, don't you know? There are FIDIOTS out there! Stay away from the FIDIOTS!
You just stay right here with us where you're safe and comfy!
About the only time I wander away from SDWD is when one of y'all post a link to something that I should look at. Outside of that, pffft, no thank you! I like keeping my blood pressure and heart rate at a nice steady level!
So Nella, it begs the question. What did you look at that had you so ticked off?
Not that I'm gonna go look at it, but it does raise my curiosity.
Nick, all I can say sweetie, is: Just wait till you have kids of your own. Then it will all make sense! That bit about human children was just a generalization. I'm sure you're the exception to the rule!
Kathy, I liked the looks of that red coop. But I wonder how that one would be for cleaning. The OP didn't seem to take that into account. If a person made better allowances for cleaning, I think that would be an awesome design. Very cute!
The boy's coop, a converted dog house, is 4 x 4, and is the perfect size for the three of them. The only complaint I have against it is when it comes to cleaning. I have to partially crawl up in there to reach the very back end to scrape up the shavings and then pull them towards the front door. But then, I'm short, and yes, so are my arms. It would probably be the perfect design for anyone of a more "normal" height and arm reach.
I've procrastinated long enough on taking pictures of my set up. Today looks like it's going to be a nice sunny day. Perhaps I'll get pictures of my set up. Y'all might be able to draw some inspiration from what I've done. Though frankly, it's probably more inspirational of nightmares!
There are so many things I would change if money and time were no object. Mostly it's the lack of time that is my biggest stumbling block to making our coops and runs exactly as we'd like them to be.
For all I went to bed early last night, I woke up late this morning, and now I'm late getting out to my birds. Y'all have a great day. I'll catch up with everyone later tonight.
