Sdwd

That is sweet, thank you. Would love to see you even without building. But I will never tell a man to travel to my place without tools.

I get my upper tomorrow so I am halfway to becoming the Lexington Biter! hahahaha I told the dentist today that was my plan...he just laughed and told me stay away from his side of Lexington.

Okay all...time to take some pain medication and get some sleep....tomorrow will be a long day as I have errands to run before and after this dental fiasco to come.

Nick, yes we are about an hour apart...roughly thereabouts.

Night Night all

Dear God in heaven! What have you people been doing?!? I take the day off from computers today and come back to find I'm THREE pages (75 posts p/p) behind y'all!!

Nick, I might be a tad bit behind the times here, but I'm gonna say this regardless. Young man! You even so much as THINK of disappearing from the SDWD and I shall personally hunt you down! And just so you know, my title on another forum is that of HunterKat!
wink.png
I hunt! Therefore I AM! It's an earned title, bestowed upon me by friends who know me quite well. So, you've been warned! Don't even think about it! Got it?!!?? Good! Glad we've got that settled.

Seriously sweetie, don't ever let anyone keep you from being where you want to be.

NellaBean, those are a darling little pair of bantam Cochin's!
love.gif
Trio's are good! *nodding in agreement with that plan* Besides, they're bantams. You still need one more to constitute an entire LF anything else!

Now then, the most important bit of information for the day, at least to me and GeeGee at any rate: One of the eggs is chirping!!!

She's gonna be a Mommy!!

She's gonna be a mommy!!!

As of my last quick inspection (lifting GeeGee about 3 inches up from her eggs) there aren't any pips yet, but one of them eggs is chirping up a storm! I think by tomorrow morning, I just might have a brand spanking new chick-chick in there! And GeeGee will finally be a MOMMY!!!
ya.gif

I just hope she has at least two chicks. One chick all by itself is just sad. Could you imagine not having anyone of your own age group around?
sad.png
Just sad. So, keep those fingers crossed kids. I'm not at all sure, but I think maybe, just maybe, I heard a second little voice in there tonight. But that might simply be wishful thinking on my part.

I'm positively giddy! GeeGee's gonna be a MOMMY!!!!

love.gif

OK, I'm all but certain I'm hearing TWO voices under GeeGee now. One of them is quite robust sounding too! Still can't see any pips, but then I'm not pulling them out and actually examining them either.

Something tells me I should treat this just like an incubator in lock down right now and keep my cotton picking dirty mitts out of there!
lol.png

OMG! Things are really getting exciting in the brooder now! GeeGee is talking away to one of the eggs, pulling bits of shavings away from it, and clucking nonstop!! And the little one is just a-peeping to beat the bandwagon!!
ya.gif

Whew! OK, that's better. She's settled back down again.......ooops! She's clucking at it emphatically again! Oh Boy! This is 10 times more exciting than incubator hatching!!
wee.gif
I gotta go! I just gotta watch this and give GeeGee words of encouragement
love.gif
I'll report back in awhile!
wink.png

OH Shoot! Almost forgot. Cetawin dear. You're in my prayers for things to go smoothly tomorrow, and for clear roads so that you can finally get your mouth back in some semblance of functionality!
hugs.gif
I so hate to hear of you being in such a ridiculous amount of pain!
sad.png
Take care and let us know how it goes when you feel up to it!
hugs.gif

Yay Amy how exciting. Keep your hand out of there just watch. I am still trying to sleep and failing.

Yes Ma'am!! I've only put my hand in there one time since this all started about an hour ago, and that was just to lift GeeGee up for a split second. I thought the chick sounded louder all of a sudden and I just couldn't resist. Caught just the merest of glimpses of her [yes, we're thinking positive! NO boys! I don't have room for any more BOYS!
sad.png
] and from what I could see, I think the egg donor may be one of my BSL girls.

The main thing is she's out! And already starting to fluff! Wow! Talk about fast! If she hatched right at the moment that GeeGee first got all excited and clucking her head off, then that little goober only took maybe 20-30 minutes to get mostly all fluffed! I remember watching GeeGee and all of her sibs in the incubator and it seemed like it took forever, even with the fan, for them to dry and fluff properly!

I'm just so happy! GeeGee is finally a mommy!!! *big sigh of contentment* Sorry that you can't get to sleep LH, but it's nice to know that one of my friends is here to share in the happy moment with me!!
hugs.gif

Put the gun down I'm here! Hehe alright I'll stay!

OMG yay for GeeGee!! And I love her name, btw. That time went real quickly!!

Hey Nick

Not to beat a dead horse here - but i think what Scott was trying to say is that there are alot of knowledgeable people trying to help you out here before you get in over your head . Listen i have been in dog rescue for many years and have fostered dogs off and on for most of my life - well at one point i stopped saying no and wanted to save them all. When you find yourself in a three bedroom cape cod style house - with too many foster dogs- two great danes - a doberman - a 125 pound Rottie - a collie - a dachshund - and a cocker spaniel who pumps out 6 puppies - and your whole time and day is consumed with them - its time to step back and say perhaps you have taken on too much! I think we all really enjoy your enthusiasm and passion for your birds - i know i respect it - and i love that you are a dreamer and a thinker - BUT listen to these folks they know what you are talking about and are gently trying to help you - and protect you - take their advice - k?
Seriously this thread holds some REALLY knowledgeable chicken people!
Their comments are out of kindness and caring

Serrin, I was reading your post by 5 this morning! Just took a nap. Do you have anymore babies this morning? My chicken prob. has started again. This time the vet tech is going to come ??? next week. I think i might lose one or two. They have chest congestion now also. Keep me in your prayers. Gloria Jean
