Scott...from the sounds it...keep your boys separated. I was lucky with Thor and Severus...later Lancelot and Severus.

Thor and Severus were hatchmates and grew up together...Thor established dominance by 8 weeks of age so there was never a problem with the two. Once Lancelot (big blue orp) came here, the was raised in a large playpen in the coop with Severus...once out together, Lancelot so towered over Severus that Sev only tried Lancelot once or twice and settled for "you go thattaway and i will go this way".

Roos with girls will fight to the death if allowed to and it sounds like your boys are not going to find a middle road with each other.

Kathy...I am so sorry about the babies....I have one of my 2 silkies that hatched for Easter with severe spraddle leg. I am trying the bandaid hobble but, if it does not then I will be forced to cull and I hate the thought of that.

I am so happy! 8 EE's, 1 BO. Wow, all of the EE's have pipped I think! And geuss what? They are the one breed that I couldn't candle! Shows I probably through out all of the forming ones, LOL.

I WILL HAVE CHICKS!!!

Scott, thanks for the offer- How far away from ATL are you? Amy, I was thinking that about the Marans. I don't have a good candler, either, and don't want to spend my money on one right now.

Good thing that I thought I would have none hatch, or else I would have been worrying all day, during bg state testing in my worst subject!

Nugget got off the eggs this morning and hasn't gone back, silly girl. She wasn't on them long enough to get them started incubating so I left them in the nest for her. Maybe she'll go back for good tonight.
