Laura, that little guy is just as darling as they come! Does he have a name yet? Kind of looks like a Rupert to me!

Nella, your poor little mama girl. Have you tried putting a fan out there for her? Whenever it gets hot here [if it ever decides to get hot this year!] I put a small fan out in the coop for Chief and his ladies. They love it. You should see them all lined up on the top roost in the hopes of sleeping in the cool breeze all night!

I think if summer ever does get here, I'm going to invest in a good bamboo roll up shade for that great big picture window on the south side of their coop. It's great in the winter at letting in the sunshine and heating up the inside of the coop with passive solar heating....but in the summer, it can be pure torture to be inside the coop on a sunny afternoon. I keep thinking that a nice heavy bamboo shade hung on the outside of the coop would keep much of that hot sun out of there, but still let in enough light so that the coop didn't feel like a cave inside.

Scott! That sounds like a marvelous plan to me! I'll send the cold wind, rain and clouds down your way, and you send me your extra heat! I'd be in seventh heaven if we could hit even so much as 70!
