Hicks - i do shoot them - but they are neatly wrapped up and well go out in the trash- i was burying things but that got insane . Luckily the garbage men have not said anythign as of yet . Not in a million years ten years ago would i find my self saying something like this!

I just have gotten horribly protective of my chickens. The main barn is fine as it is a hige barn and is metal and so forth - there is no way anything is gettign in there, Only time was the mink that found a hole somewhere

I noticed some of my girls like hanging around the junk pile. When we had the furnace worked on the repairman was gonna haul off the old parts and I told him to leave them. I thought I might be able to make a nest out of this one part. Looks like the girls read my mind.

Thanks, Lisa! He's a doll. I love youngsters raised by broodies because they get quite the education very early on. He's been free ranging since his first week of life and would make someone a fabulous flock rooster.

Kathy, those hens aren't too dumb, now are they? They know a nest when they see it!
