The Orps stayed in the pen. The Ameraucanas went outside the pen, but nearby. All the others hightailed it out into the timber.

That about sums it up. I've observed the same thing here with those breeds. The BRs and the Delawares are out and gone to the far corners. The Orps rarely leave the immediate pen area and then they come back and put themselves away-all I have to do is shut the gate. The Ameraucanas roam a bit, but rarely stay away from the coop area for long. Isaac is all over the place.

And that's probably all that is keeping Isaac from "dancing" himself to death!!

Soon my dear friend. Soon. I just have to remember to grab the camera when I go out in the morning and make taking pictures a part of my daily chicken chores routine!

Enjoy your visitors, Amy. We can wait on the pictures.

Michael (son #1) and family are coming down today. Crappy timing, as I have to work tonight and tomorrow night. Darn it.

I got another pretty dark green egg today. I think it is from one of my Easter Eggers, not Miss Olive's kid. It is darker than my usual pale pastel green eggs from Easter Eggers though, so not real sure. At any rate, I sure like this color. LOVE colorful egg cartons. Last week, at work, I asked fellow workers to save me egg cartons. They all surprised me and said they wanted to buy eggs. So, now I have a new customer list.

I hope to be back to incubating in August ...... Project chicks. I can hardly wait!

Heard thunder several times yesterday. Still no rain.........

Looks like we are getting a brief break from the heat here. Only "supposed" to make 85F today and an 80% chance of rain (praying, praying, praying)

Back to the "broiler" by Wednesday with highs in the mid-90s.
