Brandon that is great. That is what I did for the trip here...I put a second floor and removed the "house" floor and wall so there were two level all the way. Most excellent. Did you get the hardwire cloth secured? That was the one thing I never got around to with those. The other one is a mess and I need to clean it well....it got blown over during the storms a few months back and got dirt and yuck all inside. But I will get it to you after your travels next week. Just make sure you use them under cover or in the barn because the strong winds we can get will knock them over. hahahahaha
Laura I shall so far there has only been one "Moment"....she tried to get everyone to go out to dinner with her this evening, her treat. Well when I would not go because the birds would have to be locked uip too early and it was too hot, she got a little miffed and started to make a comment when I smiled and said "You and anyone else wishing to go are free to leave but I am not locking my birds up and killing them just so you can attempt to impress everyone with your generosity...go enjoy dinner; I have plenty of Peanut butter and Jelly and my birds will have dinner with me"
She zipped it and waited....finally they all ordered pizza because I would not leave before 9:00 or so. Oh well.
Screw the camera, did you get your SURPRISE YESTERDAY?
eta: thanks for the hugs....I have been weepy today. Had to take a break midday when I got the cat news and had 2 coworkers follow me out cause they saw I was upset. Then I cried in the parking lot on them. i'm ready for this week to be over

Knox I have not had one with it BUT you can get a roll of vet wrap and hold the wings in the proper position and wrap snuggly around the wings and the belly , basically wrap the wings against the body and go all the way around the duck. It can take a few days and check the feed to make sure they are getting the proper nutrients...remember less calcium but more niacin for ducks and geese. No medicated feeds because there is only one safe med and most do not use that.

Hardware cloth is secure. Only thing I have left to do is get some corner braces to shore up the door. Your DH hadn't been gone 15 mins and the wheels started turning in my head. Had to fix it then, lol It will be kept in the barn. If I can fix the other one as good as I did this one I am going to dismantle the large brooder that I made. This will make my barn set-up really functional for all seasons. I can keep both brooders along one wall and then pull the one coop/tractor on the other wall come winter. Will have plenty of room for all and not be cramped.
I am really enjoying my F1s that I got from Kathy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They have such wonderful personality. Can't wait to get some eggs from them. They do like to fly and every night I have to go over to the neighbors and catch this one and bring her home. I don't like to cut wings but maybe I will have to. I hope I get as many yellow chicks from my first hatch as Kathy did.

Kathy, does your cell phone have a camera? If push comes to shove, you could use that....if it does have a camera. Gimme a call and I'll walk you through how to do it. It's not as hard as it sounds.
LH, stick by your guns sister. Though I know I'm preaching to the choir here. Madame Six Axe Handles just has to come to grips with the fact that, in your house at least, she's the very bottom rung of the ladder!
Oh lordy! How I wish I could be there with ya. She's just the kind of WWE that I like to take down a few pegs and show to her that her pedestal is made of sandstone and not marble!
Brandon, great work on that little coop. And what an awesome gift to give to LH! Tell me dear friend, how do I get on your gift list!?!
Very beautiful and very thoughtful!
Nella, go ahead and let it all out girl! Sometimes, even if it seems silly to others, and even ourselves later on, crying is necessary to begin the healing process. That was a long day to have to endure. I know I could NOT have gotten through it without shedding a great many tears. I so hope things get better for you very soon!
