Morning all.....workin' in Nashville Tn today

I have 3 chicks y'all can fight over. 2 are Delaware (daddy, Pepper) and Col Rock (mama) and the other is a Delaware daddy x BR mama. Being raised by my broody Blue Rock x Delaware mama....

2 two Del x CRs look very Delawarish...the other is going to look very much like a BR

Any takers???

Have a great day.....lovin' the cooler weather here

Timberline Delawares. Yeah, I like that. DH is not real helpful. He said "Missouri Delawares or Bonham Delawares." I don't know if I should use my name or not.

Boy oh boy, it is down right nippy out there this morning. 44° but calling for high of 77°. I am enjoying this!

Only 5 more days to processing day.

I will be glad to have this done. Some really aren't big enough, but are going anyway. I opened up one pen yesterday by moving a few Lavender Orp project girls into the layers coop. I have a trio of Buff Sussex and a trio of Red Sussex. They are all at point of lay. I would like to pen them and hatch, BUT I know I really don't have room for more.

Can you say MOLTING? haha I have feathers everywhere the last couple days. My Barred Rocks were the first ones I noticed a couple weeks ago. Miss Olive hasn't laid an egg in nearly a month.

3 broodies persisting here; one Silkie and two Marans. I finally broke the big black English Orp girl, but it sure took me a long time. This one Marans has been in the broody buster for 4 days WITH a rooster. I let her out yesterday and she immediately went to a nest.

I have some molters as well. I was convinced I had had another hawk attack because there was a reddish feather explosion in the middle of the yard. But all the red birds were accounted for. Baffling. Until I realized my old rir girl was all pin feathers on her neck. I wonder if she just shook off there or if a boy tried to grab her. She looks ridiculous....

I'll take roos and make enchiladas out of them.
