Oh yeah LH platypus that's a good one, an oviparous mammal, yeah it lays eggs, has a duck like bill, webbed feet, has fur and gives milk, hum almost as strange as a SILKIE huh?

Those animals from down under are quite strange in their own way. Boy talk about a closed gene pool, somebody really needed to do some introducing and breeding for diversity a couple of hundred eons ago down there. Google marsupial sometime.

Talk about some messed up genetics study up on those silkies, man, you'll really get lost trying to figure out that one for sure. Are they really chickens?

Brandon - sorry to hear about your friend! That is crazy doesnt anyone fall in love anymore and stay that way?!?!? I can relate as i am as well a victim of infidelity - makes it worse when your ex leaves you for your "best friend" and has an affair behind your back for a year - makes a guy feel dumb and clueless


LH - that silkie dear lord - how cute. I saw a show where Tori Spelling was on - she has silkies and she lets them free range in her kitchen! She had made scones and the one walked up on the kitchen table and just stole won - pretty darn cute

Maretta and the others are 23 weeks old today....and here is Maretta's first egg! She was in the nest, but when I checked, she'd left and no egg, so on a hunch, I went around and checked in the pen and found this on the ground. She is 1/2 BW Ameraucana and 1/2 EE:

Thanks, I expected it would be blue rather than green because of her BW Ameraucana sire. Now, for the Olive Egger and the Rocks to get going, not to mention the D'Anvers.
