Cyn is right, she has never photographed as pretty as she is. Oh I do wish you all could have seen her when she was showing- all toned and glossy and holding "the pose" forever- she was a really good halter horse- my pride and joy.

I still get teary eyed thinking about it-and am still SO grateful to LH for giving this special girl the most perfect home and attention and love.
And she was BORN opinionated. My trainer came to see her at about 5 days old. He smoked. She hated it and curled her lips back and threw her head up and pranced away from him - it was a hoot!

LH, I do not think she will give you any trouble when you ride- she would pout on the longe line, but never bucked or caused trouble the few times we rode her. And she loves you - she will be proud to carry you around!

The Diva is registered as " BA Joleta Bey" she was Beth's baby until Beth blessed me with the honor of having Jo live with me. Jo has been the most wonderful friend and my dream come true. Growing up with TBs and Qtr horse racers, owning an Arabian was one thing I always wanted but never had the chance. Then Beth posts in here one day that one of her babies needed a good forever home...and I responded. Now she is with me until one of us dies. She has a forever home with Bill and I.

She still looks fabulous all cleaned up and she is still lean and toned somewhat maybe under that extra 100 lbs or so. Hahahaha. I would never make her an unhealthy weight and she has the best vet in the world...but she needed a tiny bit o belly.

Knox she is indeed at a good healthy weight but a bit more than she was used to carrying. When she arrived, she was lean and thin, in my opinion, and the most important thing was the fact that she paced all day waiting for dinner and she inhaled her food. She was without doubt hungry so I increased her food and she settled right down. She needed the extra here because she is climbing hills and such all day and that was not something she did in Wisconsin. So she has increased her musculature and lean mass with a little bit of tummy roundness. Were she going to be shown again or be bred, I would change up her diet a bit but, I want some weight on her for winter and trudging through the snow on these hills. If I decide to breed her next year, I will have the fertility dietician come out with her vet and do a full exam and lay out her diet at that time. I have a couple of months to decide on breeding in the Spring. I think a beautiful Arab baby will grace our field in 2012 or 2013 depending on Jo and her vet....they will ultimately decide.

It can be very hard to get a picture of her face because she tries to follow me and play with my phone or camera. *sigh* So I get tons of these pictures

Knox, I am not sure who lucked out more but I know I did without a doubt. Jo is the type of girl that would be loved and spoiled rotten by anyone, especially if they appreciate the hot bloods and the grace and sophistication of the Arabian. And the little devvil that rides around near their ear taunting them to be a bit naughty from time to time. She can get "hot" when she wants to but she is never insane or out of control. I would trust her around any child, she is that gentle, sweet and caring. When we do have kids visiting with friends they always want to see the horsey....Jo is cautious around them, making sure she knows where they are and she makes no fast movements near kids. The youngest so far has been an almost 4 year old who toddled under the wire and Jo absolutely froze until we came and got the child. She was interested in a friend's infant and let the baby slap her and grab a handful of mane....she was curious about the baby but still made no moves. So, I have really been blessed and I love her too pieces.

Kathy, votes cast as requested.

How could I possibly limit it to just two though?

So I voted for three!

I probably hopelessly screwed up your numbers in doing so, but what the heck. Go for the gusto, I always say. And if they're willing to give me an inch, I'll take a mile!

LH, that's a great vid of Jo and you.

I especially loved it when she sort of tucked you to her chest with her head and neck. There's no doubt in my mind what so ever that she loves you Lady! My limited experiences with horses says that they don't tuck just anyone to them in such a loving manner.

Yeah, I'm jealous!

Yeah she loves to do that when she is getting her neck and throat rubbed. It gets very close under there when she goes to sleep and crunches me under there. LOL

Just got back from TSC and picked up my Durmor Poultry Show feed. The birds that I had on it last spring did really well on it. I'm going to put Kathy's F-1's on it for a while and give them a boost. I wish I had a yard full of them F-1's They are really nice birds.

Har be careful with Dumor feed from TSC. I have lost 3 birds and I suspect 2 ducks to their feed which on 4 separate purchases had mold in the last 1/3 or less of the bag. Corporate's response was "It must be Dumor's problem"...not an I'm sorry, we will look into it nothing but a bunch of buffalo dung. I am seriously considering suing TSC over their negligence in storage methods and stock rotation. They really ticked me off with their worthless lazy "we want your money but could care less about you" attitude. Hell will freeze before I buy another product from the bastards. The only product I did not find mold in was the 24% chick starter but everything else has had the mold problem.
