Yep, will be going to the bunny show in Fairview on October 1st. Planning on going down to Inman, SC afterwards to pick up my old splash mottled rooster. I have to figure out a way to get him tested as that seller is not NPIP and I sold him to her just before my own testing. Quite a few of my other birds are from her and have all tested negative....but rules are rules! I may have to drop my NPIP and get it back later this year or next year. We'll see......Still figuring things out. Wondering if I can quarantine him away from my birds until a show mid November where he could be tested by a TN person. Not sure. Time for research.

Do you have any pix of your boys?

I have a friend I will have look at them and see if I should go get one, tee hee. He might want one too. I might be able to take TWO off your hands. No other breeds though, sorry lol.

Thanks! Now, I have another color in the carton. And I think she's a very pretty girl to boot.

Two roaming dogs who've been here before were messing around outside the chicken pen/perimeter fence today. Isaac, bless his heart, was on it, raising a huge ruckus. A good rooster is a wonderful thing-nothing gets past Isaac's sharp eye.

Cool egg Cyn.

My girls seem to be on "strike" right now. One BR girl who was moulting is FINALLY laying again. My 3 oldest CR girls are doing NOTHING (and all have moulted and look great). My young CR pullet is laying very sporadically

The "new" Good Shepard BR girls aren't even acting interested in the nest box and they are just pasted a full months old!!

Pretty weird to have 50+ birds running around and only 1-2 eggs a day. I am a bit overloaded on CR cockerels right now....just can't seem to decide on the 2 I want to keep for now

Hope everyone is well. Drizzling rain here in Roanoke, VA. Hope we get some in Ga tomorrow

Nite yall

My three BRs and splash Gloria Jean have been in and out of nests constantly for two weeks, messing around and acting hormonal. GJ is squatting for Rex now, too, so I'm betting she'll lay before the BRs. The two Buff Orps in with Isaac aren't even showing interest in the nests.

I've got a bunch of molters right now. As expected, I get a White Leghorn egg and a White LeghornX egg almost everyday.Only have about 7 or 8 other girls old enough to lay and I get a brown egg every now and then. TONS of pinfeathers on everyone.....

Gawds, I hate this camera! WHERE is my other camera, dang it!

Molting! OMG, molting! One of my New Hampshire girls does not even look like a New Hampshire anymore. She has NO tail at all. Oh, and Oliver looks hilarious with no tail, too.

Whew.... the black chicks are gone to their new home. Yes, Nella, I kept ONE of those (for you). I will deliver him to you in Indy. What a nice lady this one was. She is gonna be gettin' more from me, too! Her married name is Beaty, which happens to be my great-grandmother's maiden name. Small world.... Anyway, she told me a heart wrenching story of a local boy that was taken from his parents to live with an abusive uncle. Long story short...... he needs a project for Ag. He really want chickens.

I happen to have a few extras. We'll get him fixed up.

Tyler (son #4) is here visiting. (Wait, is he visiting or staying???) He went outside and sat in a lawn chair near the breeder barn (with the 22). Soon, he looked UP and saw THREE possums walking ON the netting covering the pens! Welllllllllllll, he shot all three.

Didn't need the traps tonight I guess. Well, then again, maybe the coons will be visiting later on.

Its fall and the goodies are getting scarce in the woods, Kathy. I walked in the horse barn last night and surprised a raccoon who was brazenly digging into the sunflower seed sack! Boy did the trap get set in a hurry- to no avail, but we will set it till we catch the critter.

Good for Isaac, and thank heaven he and the girls were in their run! I am terrified to let my birds out even when I am home after what happened to Alexander.

Nella, send your friend on over- I should be home Friday and Saturday except for feed store runs, etc.

LH, are you healing up?

Scott- is it this week or next week you pass through? I forgot already.
