Thanks Kathy. I have missed being here. I have gotten on a bit here and there to try and keep up with the posts but I am still behind. I am working on making grape juice today. 21 cups of grapes cooking now. 21 cups in the fridge and at least another 50 cups or so on the porch waiting to be washed ans stemmed. No rest for the weary I guess. But the juice will be good.
Those girls are beautiful!

Sorry I have been absent recently...been busy busy. Been writing contracts to purchase this house all weekend, homeschooling Cheyenne in the 9th grade, trying to get chores done, stuff needed on the house and etc before I can think of setting up an inspection and appraisal, college finals this week, ribs hurt like the dickens because of me being a general idiot and doing things I shouldn't.....I forget about it and go about my business only to end up hurting myself. DUH. And have been spending much time with the Diva Do, she is poiled absolutely rotten right down to her frogs, she is getting a pedicure tomorrow and I am dropping off contracts and zipping along.

I am waiting for the bator to come up to temp and stabilize to put in a 14 Orloff eggs...11 Mahogny and 3 Spangled. Looks like one ruptured air cell on a Spangled and a possible ruptured on a second, we will see.

I am absolutely exhausted today so I am going to bed early...maybe....I think.

Kathy found her camera! Does that mean we can expect to see a whole lot more pictures in the near future?!?

Thank you all for the kind words and thoughts for my sweet Brewenna. The flock is holding together, though the roosting arrangements seem to have changed drastically.

On the first night, Chief slept on one side of FussyButt and Maggie slept on the other side of her. Last night, Fussy slept in a corner all by herself. That worries me greatly. She needs to stay close to her remaining flock mates, IMHO. To separate herself from the others could lead to greater depression for her. And there begins a slippery slope towards the end. I've seen it before in some of my girls who had very close bonds with one specific girl in their group. I do NOT want to see the same happen to Fussy. She's the very last of my original flock. While I know it is inevitable, I just don't want to lose her so soon after Brewenna.

Laura, that home made grape juice sounds absolutely heavenly! I hope it all turns out great!

Laura and Gloria Jean are gonna have all kinds of goodies from their harvest. Canning, freezing, pickling, jams, juices ..... yummy! You girls are so ambitious. My very favorite food is home grown anything. In the middle of the winter it tastes even better, too!

Amy, I am sure FussyButt is mourning, too. I hope she snaps out of her depression soon. Give her a hug from me.

Gloria Jean laid her first egg this morning on her 24 week birthday! It was tiny, but all of her babies with Rex should be blue barred, including the pullets, so that would be wonderful if I ever choose to incubate any of them.

Congrats on GJ's first egg, Cyn. Ellie and Maddie will be 22 weeks old tomorrow. I sure hope that means just two more weeks before I start seeing eggs from those two precious little Del girls!

Kathy, thank you. I will certainly do so. Fussy is such a big sweet and huggable girl anyway!
