As with most things in regard to chickens, better OUT than IN, LOL!

Hehehehe. Shelby is a mess. She will settle in and start laying for you Beth. Her eggs are beautiful colored. She can be very vocal I learned on my weekend visit.

She laid an egg the day Beth came to get her so Beth got to see her egg color, though it was a tad lighter than her usual (still very dark)and it was super speckled that day. Shelby is such a beautiful girl, I miss her pretty face, but she was making me and Rex crazy.

Heard back back from the cochin people. Asking $90 for the blue mottled trio and $60 for the black mottled reverse trio (2 boys, 1 girl).

90 is too steep for me but I am still gonna get better pix and then see if I can haggle a bit IF they are worth it.

I have plenty of really nice black mottleds so no need for those. And definitely not at that price.

It is indeed high. You can get single birds from Jamie Matts for $45 each....probably a pair for less than $90....but his are top of the line. Same with Judy Gantt. I've asked whose lines these birds are.....they need to have big names behind them for that price. I would probably pay $60-$70 for a really nice trio from unnamed lines.

90 dollars for a trio? Oh my - is this standard bantam cochin prices? I mean my one lil bantam rock - from top breeder - i mean she is not gonna win best in show- but she was only 15!

In all fairness since i recently posted pics of my one niece thought i would show all my other one! With her new hubby - now in NY as he is in the coast guard! Still wonder how such cute girls involve my gene pool!
