The big blue boy wanted his Knockout scratch this morning. He was singing while he ate it. He's been crowing since about 3 a.m., sometimes sounding better than others, but still, he's crowing. He just sounds a little hoarse more than anything. This situation is why I tell people they need to be sure their birds' overall health is really good, so they have the reserves to fight infection when it happens. He's just up there in age now and for his size, I think he's, in effect, pretty old for a rooster. Bantams tend to be the ones we see living up to ripe old ages, not usually these huge guys.
