TIM ! ! ! It's all your fault! WHY, oh why, did you ever mention those stupid rare breed auctions? WHY???? I never would have even looked if you had not mentioned it. I read one of your posts somewhere that mentioned them. You need to STOP doing that, ya know!

OK, now I can relate to what you said. I am not telling anyone here that I have a package coming in the mail....... They'll never figure it out, right?

OMG! Did you get the Brahamas? I loved them but couldn't risk spending more money. I lucked out on what I got and saved $40 shipping by having him send them together. He's really nice and not ripping people off on the shipping end. Some charge $65. WUWT?

Anyhow I had to wait cuz he had a prob with his hatcher and because of that I was able to get both breeds sent together. He didn't have to do that. I always promote nice people.

Moving on, I was told today in church by a friend that NY is giving 10 mil. to promote a traveling processor tractor. Is that cool or what? I know I've read they have such a thing in Vermont. Some one wanted to build a meat processing plant in Pulaski, NY or was it Parish, NY but folks were against it. Like we don't need the jobs here?

Well can't wait to get the new chicks. BTW I'm getting some really nice sized eggs from my Dels. REALLY NICE!. 2.5 oz or more. (I weigh my eggs sometimes).

Take care everyone, Nite nite

I sorta know the seller. We have done business in the past, a couple of times. Yes, he is a super nice guy.

God help us poultry addicts.

This is all your fault, Tim!

Well, there go Kathy's "empty for the winter pens"!

Just kidding sweetie. I'm pea green with envy. And you have every right to indulge and reward yourself. You work your tail feathers off, both at work and at home, so, Kudos to you, I say! Kudos to you!! And I wouldn't worry too much about Mike noticing. I think he'll fall in love with them the moment he sees them!

Cyn, happy belated birthday dear lady! Sorry I missed it. Hope you had a great day.

LH, you can send me one of the smaller of the two coops as a Christmas present, and I promise I won't return it or exchange it for something else!
happy-smiley-643.gif
That would make the perfect layers coop for me!
lol.png
Give that husband of yours a hug for me and tell him I said thank you for making you such a happy lady. You deserve it!

Brandon,

Sugar, I will definitely be saying prayers for you and your efforts to quit smoking.

I so hope you make it sweetie! That's an 800 pound gorilla that I hope to have off of my back some day as well. One step, one day at a time, I'll get there too. Let me know how the Chantix works for ya too.
hugs.gif

Tim!! Have you lost your ever lovin mind, man?!?! Silkies?!?! Again?!?!? What? You didn't learn the last time?!?!
4.gif
Well, Reynold's could certainly stand to sell more of it's product, I suppose! Is that why ya done it? To give the aluminum foil industry a boost in these hard economic times?!?!

Well, we now have about 3+ inches of snow on the ground [piffling amount if you ask me!] and overnight temperatures dipping all the way down into the low teens and single digits. Dottie is now in the pump house. She's nearly naked on her back due in part to a severe molt. The other part of the equation is her unenviable position as Goobey's main squeeze!
sad.png
So, she's gonna stay inside for a few weeks, or however long it takes for her to heal up completely and for the temperatures to return to something a little more on the normal side [around 25F for overnight lows]

And since the temperatures have dipped so dang low, there isn't a snowball's chance in H-E-double-toothpicks of me being able to set fence posts in the ground right now. The move to the new duplex coop is going to have to wait until the ground thaws. There's a rumor floating around that that just might happen during the Thanksgiving weekend.
fl.gif

I really gotta get that little toe rag outta there! He's starting to tick off everyone in the coop!
4.gif
One thing is for sure: Dottie will NOT be returning to the main coop until he is out of there! I will not subject that poor sweet little hen to his depredations again!

Amy, I have some saddles here how big is Dottie? I will see if I have one that will fit her and send it off to you which will help with her bare back.

Thanks, LH, but the problem isn't in finding one to fit her. I have several that Laura was so very kind and generous to make for my girls. Nooooo....the problem is that Dottie is a nudist at heart and despises clothing of any kind. Including, apparently, her own feathers! Every time I put a saddle on her, she has it off in about two minutes. Less if she really puts her mind to it!
4.gif
I have found her saddle in the coop, in the fence line, under the porch, all the way up in garden #2, on the cabin porch, under the big trailer, under the little trailer, out in the tall grass, on the front lawn, along side the pump house, behind the pump house, in the toy shed, behind the toy shed, all the way down in garden #1, beyond garden #1. Anywhere and everywhere that little girl goes, she's trying to ditch and lose her a saddle permanently! I think she's gotten it into her head somehow that all saddles are evil and therefore must be destroyed or lost at all costs!
barnie.gif

So, thank you very much for the offer, sweetie. I really do appreciate your concern for her. Even if she's too much of a ding-a-ling herself to feel likewise. Hang on to your saddle for your girls. At least yours are smart enough to understand when mama puts one on them, it's for their own good! Besides, if you saw her right now, you'd know how much she does not have a problem with her current accommodations!

Chicken spa treatment, ya know!
