Ya just gotta love the face of an Amer hen, no matter what color she is! Poofy faces!!! Yaaaay!! I hope Luanne will be able to send me some eggs next spring. Once we have that new coop/green house combo built, I'm hoping to get started on the Delawegger project for real! Weeee! That's gonna be fun!

We had some serious wind the other day too. We're under a severe wind advisory for today and they said the "S" word in the forecast as well. Man, oh man! Winter is descending on us like greased lightning!

I only kept 2 blue Wheaten Ameraucana girls (and one rooster)- for blue eggs. They are broody all the time! I don't know if I will pen them and hatch or not. I might. I kept 4 Silver Laced Wyandottes and a rooster, and I also have a pair of them growing out (and they - the pair - might be leaving today).

I think the only thing I will be penning and hatching is - Projects, Delawares, New Hampshires, and Barred Rocks. Possibly some Orps - not sure on that. I have more of them to sell yet. I am only gonna keep a few of them.

Please , PLEASE keep the wyn. until Spring when I can come back to the mtns and get some about March. Since I have one hen and one roo in the AM. That is not so needed. I still want the OGNH to go with the wyn. Maybe an order of 25 between them. I sure don't need anymore broody girls. Have you heard anything about the Swedish Flower hens? I heard they don't go broody and lay well. Their speckles sure are pretty. I love to have at least one and sometimes two hens of each kind. Take care Gloria Jean

Have I seen pictures of them? I have two nice hens I traded for but the ones they have don't seem to have a good hatch rate.
