It's finally time to get busy with building our new coop and run. I've been procrastinating for three years, my Missus is having no more of it!
We do miss our gals, and can't stand many more store bought eggs.
We have a 16' trailer to work with

and material from an old barn to help cut costs

Thanks to y'all, the build plans are back on the drawing board and will be a very open design to address the heat and humidity.
More to come, and PLEASE feel free to chime in with suggestions and design flaws.
The goal is to have a safe and happy flock.

Looking forward to seeing this grow!

Excellent!

I always liked the idea of fresh eggs and knew when we got our property in East Texas it would be a must but ... shhh don't tell anyone but I actually never liked birds. They're gross and loud mean.

I've changed my mind, though! Chickens are so fun. You still can't convince me an ostrich is a good idea, though.

Sorry for the rough picture, I'll dig up the finish ones.
We were finishing the coop and run, and clearing out for the fence, garden and deck.
*sigh*, to be young again...
