Is there any way to make the Search button more prominant? So many of the newbies have no idea that it is there and what it does. Perhaps making it HUGE and maybe obnoxious fire-orange would help. Or maybe put it some place central.

It is a balance between making it obvious enough that peeps know it is there, but also not having it be annoying once you know it is there.

In the welcome email to all new members we encourage them to learn how and test out the search features of the forum. With that said, we'll look into ways to kindly make it even more clear.

Of course, no matter how much we put it in front of everyone, some peeps will still not use it.

So true. It's such a useful feature though. I keep seeing posts on topics I know have umpteen thousand answers already, and then those same posters get mad because no one answers them. On the last such thread the poster even said, "what search button?".

Maybe leave it where it is and make it bright orange. That way it sticks out visually when the page comes up, but it's not in your line of sight all the time. The other option is to make it flash in gigantic size font over the top of every new post. While it would get the point accross that option would probably be really annoying.

Ugh. I don't even like that search tool! Oh, and I'm not crazy about the color orange, either.

I don't think it's that they can't find it, but that they want the post for themselves to find. If I post an thread myself, I can easily know when someone new posted by just looking in my posts. If someone else does it gets lost. Even though you can describe... Plus the effort of searching for answers? MY YOU"RE CRAZY!
