Searching by posts rather than threads

Well, this was my original question that I was about to post right before I decided to double-check the search page one last time:

"Whenever I use the search function to find a keyword or phrase, it seems to only return a thread, not an individual post. Since many of these threads can be hundreds of pages long, I simply cannot search through them manually looking for my keyword match. Is there a way to go directly to the matching post that I am simply not seeing? If not, could you please consider adding such functionality? It would greatly improve the utility of the search page."

After checking the search page again, I figured out that all you have to do is change the "Show results as" drop-down from 'Topics' to 'Posts'. I decided to post my question anyway, in case it might help others that are equally noobish as me, assuming that such persons exist!

My one suggestion to improve the search page would be to have the "Show results as" default to Posts rather than Topics, as I think this is what most people would prefer to search anyway. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks!

Yeah, when I used to search by topic, I would do a quick rotation of CTRL-F, search the page, skip to next page, CTRL-F, ... and so on. Still very time consuming when the thread is over 100 pages long, LOL!

I frequent some other forums, and use their search functions a lot. Sometimes the search function gives the option of showing threads or posts; I always check posts, so once again, Im not wading thru hundreds of pages, which in fact I won't do, I just give up.
