Hi everyone !
I am in a pickle! We are trying to help a local middle school teacher with teaching chicken development. They are hatching the eggs in the classroom and we are going to be raising them after. Our farm does not incubate or hatch eggs; I was not aware there are not many places selling fertile eggs in the off season, especially since we just got 400 chicks last fall! Anyway, any advice on where to go from here? Do you guys know of anywhere eggs would be available. We are looking for 25-35 laying hens. Thank you!

Are you meaning you're looking for eggs from high production breeds? Would you be after local or shipped? Probably local for this type of project, because shipped eggs don't ever hatch as well as local eggs, I'm guessing.
Hi! I am looking for 25 to 35 eggs to hatch, yes preferably higher production laying hens. Like I said I don’t have experience with hatching eggs, so I did not realize shipped eggs don’t hatch well! Ugh looks like this teacher may not be able to do his project until spring 😢

Can you check your local state thread here on BYC? Also, there are usually local Facebook poultry groups, you can ask in there. Lastly, you could try looking on Craigslist and making a post saying that you're looking.

Also I know it's probably just how you were phrasing it, but just in case - you can't on purpose get eggs that will hatch hens :) You'll get about 50/50 hens and roosters hatched. So if your goal was to end with 25 hens, you'd want to get 50 eggs.

Hoping you realize that you won't know what eggs are male or female. If you want 25-35 hens, odds are best if you stay like 100 to account for males and failures to hatch
