yes it does have an indicator light. and i will keep messin with it. thank you so much for all of your help i really appreciate it
 
I've recently repaired one, waiting on the new fan motor to show up but with the little one I have in it it's getting up to 100+ in about 30-45 min to adjust the temp the little knob just above the light needs to be turned to the left for lowering temp to the right and it has a lock nut on it to keep it in place. The vents help with heating but there mostly for humidity control. If the lights on its heating if it's off it's not. I have my fan hooked up to turn on when the thermostat kicks in only issue I have currently is the fan isn't large enough to spread these heat evenly. Hope this helps and good luck.
 
You got a gem. Those incubators are hard to find these days and once you become a friiend and get to know it, it should work well for you. If the wafer is the same as gqf you should be able to buy new ones from them.
