Well you said they were cheap enough so guess that is how they make it cheaper!

Ryan what are your reasons for wanting to use a smooth?
If you have a really outstanding smooth I would certainly
use it if you need to improve type.
Basically it all boils down to the birds you are breeding and
whether they're going to click or not.
Nobody can predict the outcome of what might happen
but expect around 50% smooth offspring from such a breeding.
Some people advocate breeding smooth x curly to help with
twisted wing tip but in my personal experience it
didn't seem to make any difference.
I had a smooth gander and it didn't seem to hinder the curly offspring
at all.
In fact one of my best females Blueberry Muffin was sired by him but I
never got anymore quite like her from that pairing.

I have a smooth female out of my overton gander and one of my old hens" holderread breeding" She is a nice big bird so I would like to use her. I have been told the smooth birds help with width of the feathers. I have a young gander out of your goose and my overton gander that is a very curly dude!! I need to take some good pictures of my babies and show ya how they are coming along. I have 12 that i am growing out and i plan on hatching alot of sebs this spring. I will start hatching alot now that i have more numbers and culling hard to get the quality where i want it.

Thanks Ryan. I would try it!
If you have a nice big good looking goose why not use her?
Glad you got a curly boy you like.
I love Audrey's line. She has some of the best Sebs in the U.S.
A side note...I've never had any problems selling the smooth Sebs
and if you get stuck with any just put them in the freezer.
The guys in our family love goose meat.
