Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

scroll back a few pages, Jennifer posted a great side by side of grey and blue and also shows the lighter powder blue too if I remember right
I looked back before because I remembered that conversation but there are only pictures of blue and powder blue, it just says something about gray being darker....I assume mine are gray but they look a lot like that color in the pic above too? I have blue cochins and compared to them I would not call my geese blue but is blue in geese different? Again, it so hard to tell in pics. I am sure natural lighting is much better for observing feather color.

I think it was Celtic that posted a link to a company that does the DNA testing im not sure of the name i can't find the link now .when i do i will give you name

This is the company I use:

I think when they say feathers from the wing and/or tail they are referring to small budgies, etc. A couple blood feathers from a goose tail area will work just fine. Make sure when you fill out the form you say it is a goose, species is Anser and that it is a sebastopol.

Yeah- that's the wheat grass. It actually does better in the fall and spring, and even grew some over the winter when we had a few mild days in a row. As soon as my tomaotes are done I will be throwing more seed in the beds.

Some of mine really enjoy the tomatoes I cut up for them, but they all lose their minds over romaine. I imagine the wheat is similar to oats and rye grass and grows better when it is cool and damp...i.e. southern winters.

I love your Alice. My buff girl looks almost identical with some streamers and fluffy thighs, but has no time or need for me. She was field raised by Dave H. and is chief babysitter. I have to say she produced some amazing babies, and her daughter, Marilyn is sweet as syrup and white as snow. I raised all the babies till they started to feather and then she stole them let her have them.

I'm most excited about the grey saddleback boy which will be split for buff -- thinking he's full brother to one of your guys? I need to get another pic of him. He and his smoothbreasted brother will be my chief men for 2013 unless somebody turns loose of a buff gander, but they are few and far between.

How did you get that crossed out like that? ha haaa.

I think the saddleback split for buff I have will be curly. At least his back is so far- the same way that Bumble feathers in.
Speaking of Bumble, I just ran into a snake in his house.
