Some of mine really enjoy the tomatoes I cut up for them, but they all lose their minds over romaine. I imagine the wheat is similar to oats and rye grass and grows better when it is cool and damp...i.e. southern winters.
I love your Alice. My buff girl looks almost identical with some streamers and fluffy thighs, but has no time or need for me. She was field raised by Dave H. and is chief babysitter. I have to say she produced some amazing babies, and her daughter, Marilyn is sweet as syrup and white as snow. I raised all the babies till they started to feather and then she stole them let her have them.
I'm most excited about the grey saddleback boy which will be split for buff -- thinking he's full brother to one of your guys? I need to get another pic of him. He and his smoothbreasted brother will be my chief men for 2013 unless somebody turns loose of a buff gander, but they are few and far between.
